That's a ridiculous comment. Parables contain veiled truth. That's what they're for. If you are going to read the f'ing thing then you have to follow the rules it sets out within itself. It directly tells you in multiple places that it is not a history book. It isn't even linear, both cover to cover and within some of its books (Romans being the greatest example). There is a TON of metaphor, symbolism, and spiritual reference that is not literal at all. Anyone who takes the Bible as literal from beginning to end is a dipsh*t. It has some literal parts, but they are NOT NOT NOT the majority of it.
