I'm a Kobe fan. Doesn't mean I'm unreasonable or delusional about his status and legacy as a player.

fair enough
I totally agree that Michael Jordon is one of the top 10 players of all time…But lets get real…Kobe destroyed him & chased that old man out of the NBA…As far as Phil Jackson goes…He was given the privilege of coaching the Lakers and he did a good job…But quite frankly even Mike Brown would have won several championships with Shaq, Kobe, Fox, Horry, Fish and Dance Master Mark Madsen….
The Lakers will return to greatness under the leadership of Jim Buss…Time for the Old Zen Master to ride off in the sunset…Nobody cares what he has to say…![]()

"It was as if the other players were now his partners, not his personal spear-carriers." -Phil Jackson
Phil calling Kobe a spear chucker.
You've sucked his balls so ing dry he'd have to recons ute them to again. Sure you're done with him?
Phil is a bitter old man, angry that the Lakers didn't hire him this year, thus taking out his frustrations on Kobe. Obviously blind haters choose to ignore this and share his sentiment of biased hatred.
Michael Jordan played in the weakest era of basketball with defenses that were not advanced or sophisticated. He's ahead of Kobe because 6>5, but it's close.
During his coaching career, Phil also carpet-bombed Pop's face.
Props to him for saying the truth and not sugar-coating it.
"Kobe was -bent on surpassing Jordan as the greatest player in the game. His obsession with Michael was striking," Jackson said. "When we played in Chicago that season, I orchestrated a meeting between the two stars, thinking that Michael might help shift Kobe's at ude toward selfless teamwork. After they shook hands, the first words out of Kobe's mouth were, 'You know I can kick your ass one on one.'"
true. but those guys never ed their way onto the league's golden franchise, so their careers ended up much worse. Hopefully McGrady can ring with us. also, none of them had this weird need to emulate MJ, including his voice. that's some eerie tbh.
what's funny is how many Kobestans on here now claim "of course he's not as good as MJ, but least he's next in line". I pretty much guarantee that any Kobe fanboy was proclaiming him capable of being better than MJ a few years ago, when most of us knew he'd never reach that pinnacle. no matter how many championships, Kobe is like a ty knockoff brand of MJ. ever since Achilles happened, now I see a lot of history revisionists.
it's funny to see that Phil repeats what we've been saying on ST, that Kobe is a crappy defender, will sabotage a team if he isn't given his due, is uncoachable, a sociopath and rapist. I still don't know why Laker fans prefer him over Magic who is a true top 5 player and good person, not a top 15 player, but to each their own.
lol, hollywood.
by good person, I don't mean sexually responsible. Obviously he banged tons of people and let the boys of SUnset Blvd blow loads inside of him....which unfortunately I think the DNA mutations got passed to his son.
but overall Magic will always be a better person than Kobe. and least he's a true top 10 player....
If Phil doesn't mention how overrated he was as a coach, it's all bull and he's not to be trusted.
