Anyone here who can provide a link for the replay?
That last TP highlight during the all tournament team was pretty sick tbh
Thanks smaka!!! Please do make a video, I have been looking for highlights and anything I can find. As usual, ace3g posted a few things, but otherwise there isn't much to see.![]()
This probably solidified Parker in the HOF.
I believe the replay is playing on NBA TV tomorrow at 5pm ET
major props to the French National Team, but especially TP, Nando and Boris, since they were the main reason I was rooting for them. Also props to the all frenchies on here.
Really happy for you guys. I'm sure that helped Parker deal with the Finals. Hopefully TP, Nando and Boris can bring back that confidence and victory and help Spurs to the promised land.
TP pretty much solidified himself as a 1st ballot HOF
3x NBA Champ
NBA Finals MVP
5x all-star
2x NBA second team(deserved 1st this year)
EuroBasket MVP
Congratulations to TP, Boris, Nando, the rest of the NT and to all the frenchies who desperately wanted their team to win a le.
2015 is olympic qualification
Some highlights
Tony Parker
Boris Diaw
It's sure that Parker will play the 2015 Eurobasket because his goal is to end his NT career at the 2016 Olympics.
For the 2014 WC, the main factor will be how far Spurs go this season and his physical state. Another factor will be the draw of that tournament. For example, Spain, USA and France might all end up in the same side of the bracket which meant that the best France could realistically hope would be a quarter final. Not a lot of appeal for Parker in this case.
FNT will be received at the french president house today and will then do a lot of medias/sponsors stuffs. Parker will also have a charity game with Batum, Diaw, De Colo and Sefolosha Wednesday. Parker has events planed in France until Saturday so I guess he will join SA just after it with the Media day being next Monday.
Vincent Collet has been re-signed until 2016. What do you think about that Bruno ?
He has struggled at the beginning of the tournament but since the quarterfinals, he has made a lot of good moves.
Parker's father recently said Tony wasn't going to play at the 2014 WC.
Personnally I am not sold on him but tbh since TP & others said he should stay any alternative was quite unlikely. Also you have to give Collet credit for not berating the FNT when they sucked in the early rounds while still "passing some messages" privately (eg during HT breaks) and relying on TP and Boris to motivate the other players. Besides, his players rotations since the QF looked pretty good to me (look at Diot - even Petro produced in the final!)
I found a quote from TP related to spurs in an interview for l'equipe.fr
This le is also a message for those who refused to join FNT for this Euro?
I'm not here to judge. I love playing form my country, I'm proud of it. I'm in the best possible organization with the Spurs with RC, Pop. Pop has been the first to call me after the game against Slovenia to tell me to go till the end, to give some advice. He knows how much I'm going to be tired for the start of training camp, because it has been a long season, but he also what represents the gold.
If that means Pop gets to see who wins the backup PG spot in camp then all the better.![]()
But did Pop call Nando?
Did Pop call Boris?
We know he called Beli.
Nando needs to actually do something before he is worthy of a phone call.
Parker said just after the le about Collet:
"I hope that coach Collet will stay because he is one of the main reason why I come back each year. He takes care of me, he is my Euro Pop. He doesn't wear me down with two daily practices. He let me alone because he knows that I will there for the big games."
Keeping Parker happy is a big priority so keeping Collet is a good move.
Collet is a fine coach tactically and technically but I still thinks he really lacks the charisma/leadership to coach at that level. Now, this weakness has been hidden with Parker and Diaw playing that leadership role. Both are helping a lot Collet to keep the team motivated and in straight line. Without them, it's more complicated for Collet like we saw at the 2010 world championship.
I know but Parker later said that he honestly didn't know for the moment.
I think he likely won't play but if Spurs are eliminated in April and if the WC draw is favorable to France, it will be hard for him not to play it.
