I've never understood why Jesse Owens's four golds were considered such a landmark socio-political event. Last I checked Hitler still went on to wipe out 72% of Europe's Jewish population, and even with his gold medals Owens still had to race against horses to earn money when he got home. So what difference did it really make?

I'm not saying he didn't play well, he did. But the quarterback's primary job is to win the game and they didn't.
