bulls 72-10 record is bull anyway, for the last 10 seasons there was a couple of teams on pace to reach that record but faded either due to playoff seeding for weaker matchups...

I disagree with the premise first of all. To be the GOAT team, you don't have to beat the record of the Bulls. Having the best record doesn't make you the best team, otherwise the 66 win Mavs were a better team than the GSW who beat them in the 1st round.

That sounds good coming from a TV watcher, however there's a lot to be had between the preseason and the playoffs. There are some superstars in the league who've never seen the Finals, so obviously it's not all pointless.
