I wouldn't go that far. If the opportunity presents itself, they'll exceed the cap with the quickness. These are things we know. I just hope they are smart about the players they sign.
Couple of points:
1) Makes perfect short term business sense for the Lakers, zero basketball sense, arguable long-term business sense.
2) Kobe cares about shots, not winning
3) Kobe knows he will only own half of what he has a few years from now, so he is doubling his asking price on anything. Smart move.
4) Laker fans are envying Dr. Buss for being dead.
5) Dr. Buss would rather die than see this mess. Good move.
