He was acquitted by a jury. Sounds like the girl was too drunk too consent or say no. Spurs gave him his shot and he seems to have made the most of it with his contract with the bucks.
Unlike the NBAs most famous rapist, Neal was poor with a court appointed attorney and was forced to go to trial and be judged by a jury of his peers who found him not guilty. I'm sure he would have loved to buy his way out of rape, but not everyone can go around raping women and others without consequence.
