The fact that so many people give a about who plays Batman in the sequel one of the worst steaming pile of dog movies to come out this year is somewhat disheartening.

i figured someone would make that "Michael friggin Keaton??" point, and it is a fair argument. There was a lot of derision over that decision. I'll say this though, Keaton had shown far more range by that point in his career than Affleck ever has. Keaton, imho, is one of the most underrated actors and still the best overall Batman. I don't think I've seen a scene from Affleck as sad as Keaton in Night Shift when he breaks down about his life or starts to unravel in Clean and Sober.

Affleck is not that great of an actor, this decision is similar to George Clooney in part 4 imo. Likeable, decent actors, but putting more emphasis on their star wattage. Keaton was actually inspired.

tbh, i really don't give a , i'm sort of wanting to see what kind of trainwreck this film will be. I figured that as soon as they said it's due out in 2015, they were hurting its chances of being great.

I always forget about Michael Keaton. Mr. Mom, Johnny Dangerously, Beetlejuice...funny stuff.
Then as you mentioned his range. He was great in Pacific Heights as the crazy neighbor. White Noise was good.
It's been a while since I saw it but My Life was incredibly sad and he was good in that as well.
Think I might try to find Night Shift somewhere tonight. Awesome.

Michael Keaton is actually a great actor. Completely different.

I hope he surprises, I won't say for sure he'll suck in this, but I don't like this decision. Might just be something I have to learn to accept bc I'm a huge fan of Superman.

Idiots just going for star power instead of who's best to play the role.

sounds like the new Robocop is going to be a trainwreck, horrible script, studio interference etc...we'll find out, but i'm sure Keaton will deliver the goods per par.

Keaton is always good, i thought he stole scenes in The Other Guys as well. Wish he would act more. I liked Bale in the new Batman flicks but I think Keaton just seemed like a haunted person moreso. Kurt Russell is another great talent who doesn't work enough. Night Shift is good stuff, movie still makes me wish I could moonlight as a pimp .

It's a mistake if they are trying continue Nolan's Dark Knight universe into this new JLA arc. People understand reboots, though it's weird rebooting Batman in someone else's movie.

The best part is when 1000+ lb. chunks of concrete are being sucked into the black hole but somehow tiny little Amy Adams isn't affected and keeps falling to Earth and right into Superman's arms

Thanks Nolan. You ruined both Batman AND Superman.
just saw this bit of smug douchiness.

Yes, that asshole Christopher Nolan ruining Batman. After the incredible quality of the Batman films produced by Joel Schumaker and Tim Burton. Because those movies were all so ing good! And Nolan had to come and all over their legacy!

wasn't expecting much, never understood what the appeal was for superman ie. the laziest superhero ever.

-hey lets make a new super hero
    -ok, what are his powers?
    -um how about... everything!
    -GENIUS!

but I thought the movie was great considering what it had to work with. aside from a few LOL YGTBFKM elements, for example how they were able to traverse and colonize the universe but were caught off guard by their own planet collapsing, to the extent that no one but a few prisoners made it out alive

Nolan didn't ruin Batman but he sure as hasn't given two s with Dark Knight Rises and got of Steel. Now that he's got his little followers slurping his every move, he can relax a bit and make some subpar movies such as superman

Man Of Steel is more Zach Snyder's fault but there's no defending Dark Knight Rises. It had some incredible set pieces and overall was better than the typical summer movie, but in hindsight that movie just isn't very good. The camera panning in a circle around a kissing Batman & Catwoman had a laughable " ty Kate Hudson rom-com" feel that makes me want to vomit. Basically everything about that movie except Bane sucks. And then they had to ruin him by making him a lovesick pedo.
