LOL...
Watching too many movies again.
This news will either frighten you or it will do nothing at all. It seems there is no end to the ways that the US Government can spy on people these days. Every day, it seems, new information is revealed that takes things a step further than the day before. Through the classified do ents leaked by Edward Snowden, the world is more than aware of just some of the lengths the Government will go to to get information. His leaks have made some people afraid to use their own cell phones for fear of spying. Others, who feel they have nothing to hide, live much the same as before.
Now, thanks to the Washington Post, it is being reported that the FBI has a few spying tricks up their sleeve as well. (Since they are the Federal Bureau of Investigation, I guess they should be en led to a few investigative tricks). One of their tricks that may scare and surprise even the most innocent of us is this: the FBI can turn on your laptop’s camera and watch you without you even knowing it.
Good Tool Or Privacy Nightmare?
To be fair to the FBI, this news was revealed to the Washington Post in conjunction with the FBI trying to catch a bombing suspect who had been eluding them for quite some time. The article also reports how they used certain other types of malware to put different surveillance programs on the suspect’s computer.
Here’s what surprised me most about the whole thing – the FBI has been able to secretly spy on anyone through their laptop camera for years now. It’s not some new technology that’s just now allowing them to get a closer look. And while it’s technically only supposed to be used to catch terrorism suspects, what’s to stop them from using it to spy on average citizens down the road?
You and I may never know if we’ve been spied on – and while most of us have nothing to hide, it is still a scary thought knowing that Big Brother could be out there watching us.
What are your thoughts on this subject?
LOL...
Watching too many movies again.
im certain fbi has better things to do at work like watchin porn then watchin people through a cam...
lol watching another guy wanking at home in front of his computer in the basement with his tight white pants?
FBI only watch female laptop users imho, especially when they're masturbating to some handsome guys' pics on the laptop's screen.
It's been known for years that hackers can watch through laptop videos. I agree with TDM. The FBI has better things to do. You should be worried about your neighbors watching!
Years ago, I taught my daughters to always keep the camera covered except when they were using it.
Mouse...
You most certainly don't think this is any kind of new news... do you?
Too bad my laptop is a piece of with linux and doesn't even have a camera

or the Washington post? Its not my story just passing it on.
oh wait........ I forgot , the great Wild Cobra knows years before its even discussed on the www............so tell us now that the world has already ended in your super updated mind what are your plans?
Well Susan.
I see you're just another got troll on these forums.
Why do you hide behind a false iden y...
Chicken...
As for your question, you lib s are just going with the most recent news, even thought it is old news. It is no stretch at all to know that laptops and cell phones will be monitored as deemed necessary. patriot act you know. As i said years ago, I'm not worried about the intent of the law, but the people who have access to the tools. People will abuse technology.
So...
Why is the OP any new news?
Please explain.
If you search for stories on the web, you can find them as far back as 2007. Maybe older. And that's with camera phones. Laptops go much farther back.

Why do you lib s only know what the media tells you?
The facts of monitoring capabilities are so much older than recent stories.
^ That could be said about most things really.
It only gets brought up when it affects us directly.
Nothing is different.
It's not like the FBI in the roles of law enforcement are monitoring everyone. What a monumental waste of time that would be, and bandwidth.
Again, it's the undisciplined employee that abuses the tool at his or her disposal that worries me. They might be actively "surfing" peoples phones, laptops, and security systems looking for their latest thrill, porn, etc.
Seriously?
That is not realtime...
Bull . It's a satellite view.
LOL...
My God, you are gullible.
Yes, it's a satellite view, but not real-time.
Use it to look at your house at night sometime. Tell us what you see.
It's a real time view.
I just zoomed in to my place. I can't pinpoint how old the image is, but it is between June and October of last year.
LOL...
You are a true idiot.
