it's always fun to piss at the Lockets no matter which team you supports. Dale started this thread for me, I arbitrarily think. he knew I hate the Lockets so he started this thread for me while I was at school, thank you, Dale

I dont care if I am called bitter, watching Dwight fail gives me joy in a season devoid of much for the Lakers ...
I do like Beverly, Parsons and Beard ...
Too bad i despise the coach and starting center ... otherwise I would enjoy that lil Rox team ...

What did Howard do to you to make you want to see him fail? What, he didn't want to keep playing with Kobe? He turned down a large sum of money to go to Houston and play with Harden? Do you realize that with Howard and Kobe both getting fat checks you'd be ed for the next however many years?

At least Howard played in the playoffs while the rest of your team sat on the bench like pussies.

Old animosity dies hard. And they show that Mchale Rambis clothesline every time we play them damn leprechauns ...and my blood still boils. Plus we threw away that series in 1984 it was almost as bad as "6" but it was a slow death ... from Magic's foibles to Worthy's bad pass.

For the Spurs though "6" was as sudden as Paul Walker's demise but they still had to suffer game 7 and the missed bunny a few days later ...
1984 was almost 30 years ago and I still remember the one that "got away" ...
"It still hurts" may have been in jest ... but it encapsulates the pain many here still feel but try to mask with Kobe bashing ...

You read too much into it. If you think losing the Finals is worse than getting swept with a 130m dollar payroll, you're smoking something illegal.

He did nothing to me. I dont like his dishonest nature, the duplicitous manner he did SVG, his outlook on hoops. his on court demanor or his lack of a post-game. I think we are better off without him ...(at max, we would be better with him at a slight discount) but I just dont like him. I dont have to play out a bunch off court bull-shoit or made up reasons like yall do about Kobe. I just cant stand the and enjoy watching him fail ...

'85 is what drives McHale to distraction. The foul Rambis drew from him spelled the end. He'll take that to the grave. + his kid was ed up, right? The movie screen for a forehead type .

Wait, what? I am talking about the pain of letting a finals slip through your fingers ...what does the getting swept have to do with anything? We did not have Kobe, we got swept. I think we win at least one if he is there, he wasn't, we didn't .. means little to me ... yall focus on it tbh ...
but I do KNOW the pain of 6 because 1984 was my "6" Lakers have won 7 time since but i remember 1984. Maybe because I was younger and losses hurt more when you are younger ...but you can't tell me that 6 doesnt hurt more ...

You can lie to yourself all you want. Payroll means to me, I already forgot about the sweep but I remember vividly 1984 ...and I always will. If spurs win this year it will help , but in the bqack of your mind you would know it should of been that elusive repeat ... that the spurs could never grasp that you should be celebrating instead of "5".

If everything stays the same but spurs win last year ... not only ties Kobe and Magic but is chasing Mj at 6.
Duncan not only applies some distance to Shaq and a hard charging Lebron
Spurs sit at 5 only one done from the Bulls ....

So much changed with "6" no spinning changes that fact ...

Little bit of a double standard there seeing how Kobe did Phil and Shaq. Obviously it's not just about your immense love for Stan Van Gundy. It's about what he did to the Lakers, having your hopes up and bolting when the opening came. Had he stuck around, I think he gets more love here.

No, the Finals didn't slip through anyone's fingers. That's just a misconception that some of you have continued to parade around here like it's the truth. The Heat took that. They came back and they won game 6 in overtime, and in game 7, they won in regulation. There were missed shots like there are in every game, and there were missed opportunities for rebounds like there are in every game. The Heat had the HCA, they lost but regained it. SA took them to their limits in both games but fell short. It didn't slip through their fingers because it was never in their hands. Some might pretend it was to make themselves feel like that have a championship that they don't, but no one looks at the number 2 guy in a indy car race and think "he let it slip through his fingers because he was leading after that first lap". More powerful engines and better drivers generally mean more wins. Spurs were in the red... and I'm just saying it's not good to run a race car in the red.

    Come on DMC ...
All praise to the Heat and to Lebron.
    But seriously?

AAA security had the tape set up to control the crowd ...
NBATV let a Spurs championship SI commercial slip through the cracks ...
Twitter was calling Lebron a choker ...

    then ...
bang. Just like that the narrative changed.
Some stats heads did the win probablilty with the cir stances in the Spurs favor and so much had to "break bad" for yall to lose that game.
Missed FT's, multiple offensive rebounds, and a incredible 3 after Lebron's 3 were ALL needed just to get that game in to overtime.

if you notice I hardly make much fun of "6" because I KNOW that pain ... but when you pricks try to act like letting swept in the 1st round is akin to THAT pain I just laugh as you try to lie to yourselves.
Were the Spurs FAR more successful than the Lakers absolutely, and for less cash. But does "6" hurt more than our ty season?! Absolutely.

No, what bugs me he wanted to milk us for every penny ... even Kobe's greedy ass took a minor cut to stay ...he did not. And I did not want him at a max salary anyway ...
Kobe has skins on the wall blood sweat and tears for helping us get to 16 ...Howard? No so much ... I love PJ And Im "cool" with shaq. he is nowhere near my favorite Lakers but still a great player.

BTW wgaf why I dont like Howard who cares? call me salty, bitter my dislike of Howard is akin to your dislike of chuckers ...

....and yet, the game wasn't over, and there was still time for the Kang and Ray Ray to get it done, tbh.... all the premature ejaculation from media and fans doesn't change the fact that there were 28 seconds left on the clock, tbh....

    Ok but let's flip it.
what would have been the narrative if:

Heat lose in the exact same manner?
what if Lebron misses the FT's that Manu and KL did?
What if KL grabs that board and feeds Manu for the ray 3?

Don't both SPo and Lebron get skewered by the media?
Because the Heat are so good and Lebron is kang they let you guys off easy.
Almost as if you guys are some roody pooh, team with no championship pedigree.
some of you with that polyanna Spurs were just lucky to be there ...type bull .

spurs are one of the most successful franchises in recent NBA history.
they are the Patriots of the NBA, with the "hoodie" playing the Pop role and Timmy as a humble version of Brady ...

No you should not of loss that game no matter how great Lebron is ...
Larry bird, Mchale and Parish were all great doesnt mean the Lakers did not choke 1984 ...sure they "took it" but to take it we had to have loose fingers, same as the 2013 spurs ...

    ^ I dont get it ...
I can freely admit we choked in 1984 ... Celts were great they deserved it because bottom line they were tougher mentally and physically ... but we choked PERIOD.
Just let it out it will still hurt, but you have to face facts.

    They won't face it, Killa.

& frankly you cannot equate '84 to 6.
We didn't deserve '84. We got what we deserved.
They deserved 5. And got what they deserved.

, I've never gotten over '84. I think about that a lot more than I think of the 16. But, we had a savior in Magic Johnson. He had a strong influence in the debacles of '84. We'd nearly got killed by Dallas earlier because of his screwin' around. But, all that made Magic into exactly what we needed. And we've never looked back, well we peeked after '08, but, Kobe brought us thru that tumult and we've never looked back since.

What a crock of tbh. I can do the same for Kobe:

Kobe is a terrible player to play alongside, no that plays ball wants to play with a ball hog. He gets all the glory in wins and no blame in losses. And incredible media manipulator that puts on a fake persona during interviews. Ousted Shaq and PJax. Sabotaged an NBA Finals and a Game 7 for selfish reasons. Killed the Lakers cap situation (youd be better without him, unless at a discount). Yet you worship him?
