Our two best players last year were TP and TD and both are worse this year. Duncan's decline is expected for his age but TP doesn't really have an excuse seeing as he's 31 years old. He looks fatigued.
he played over the summer. he's coasting tbh. Saving energy to make a run when it counts. Who cares about a streak in december

well, bad game. burn the tape. never play these lineups again, start the process of relegating Ayres to 12th man next to De Colo, and the spurs should be fine.
Pop will play him more or continue to play him just to be stubborn unfortonuately.

But that essentially means it's a roll of the dice with him and is that what an aging team can afford to do again? I mean, he can defend the out of Curry but still. Would he be starting material on any other team in the league?
Yeah I understand the concern. I wish Danny Green wouldn't let his offensive struggles affect his defensive impact. His PG defense is still very valuable. I still believe in him.

He does look a bit fatigued. This is the time Kawhi should be allowed to take some burden off him and have more plays run for him. He also needs to be more assertive out there and force the issue more.

Nothing's changed. We're still better than the Clippers, just a lousy game. We're not, however, as good as OKC or Rip City. I see either of those teams beating us in a 7-game series as of right now.

Well blame that stupid summer play after a deep playoff run. I hate when the players do that personally.
I've been saying this for years. FIBA basketball has no value. It's a niche sports tournament catering to a minority audience that's more interested in soccer anyway. FIBA makes money off NBA players while paying them nothing. NBA teams don't benefit and the players come back to their teams injured or tired. It's especially harmful for the Spurs since our team is comprised of mostly internationals. International basketball can off and die already.

    dat tttt, GNSF!

Seriously though, great game up until the end of the 4th when it got out of hand, tbh.... Spurs will be fine, Clippers need to start playing more like this and less like the lazy-ass team from the road trip that played down to East cupcakes...

I believe he can be a solid contributor the rest of the way but there is a definite chance we won't see as nearly a successful playoff performance from him the next time around. We'll see.

Is Danny Green really all that different from last year? He seems to be the same to me. Just tried to take mid rangers more often to begin the season..
He's still buying every pump fake, and he's playing better at home. Sounds like the same to me.

It's easy for you to say. French people are probably pretty happy with TP winning that tournament for them.

Ultimately, it was Stern that made the arrangement with FIBA, that's where the blame should go.

Yes, the twenty Franchmen that actually watch basketball are happy while the tens of thousands of die-hard Spurs fan suffer. Very smart of TP to bring glory to a minority audience while ing over the hundred thousand fans that actually pay for his salary.

more excuses? denial is not just a river in Egypt
Remember that time last year where we were blowing games late in the season and we suddenly had no hope of going anywhere and we were doomed to mediocrity for 20 years and then golden state played us tough for 2 games and the Tim Duncan era was officially over and yet through it all we were 28 seconds away from a ring?

Moral of the story: shut the up, it's December

I saw the hug at the end of the game. Doesn't look like that BS about Jackson screwing Tim's wife is true looking at the reception Pop and Tim gave him.

It seems that Pop cut him to show him who's boss. Not sure we win the Goldenstate series with him, but he would have helped in the finals.

Whoa. I've been waiting for Marco to show up against good teams before I get excited like some of the other posters here were about him.

Neal could have done better than that. Marco hasn't really done jack against the top teams. I'm talking shooting only. I know Marco is better in other areas, but this team doesn't have any creators apart from Tony and Manu, so that means the shooters have to make shots if were are going to go anywhere. Even though Neal sucked in most areas, he could make shots. You can't even expect that from some of the other 1 dimensional players on this team.

Neal could shoot in any game. Whether it was game 1 of the season or game 5 of the playoffs. The guy shot with the same confidence no matter what game it was. I just don't trust some of the guys on the team to do that right now. They're going to have to show they can do it and earn that trust.

Spurs really should have went after another creator. We've got too many 1 dimensional shooters and none of them can create for themselves. We're back to Manu and Tony as the only real creators on this team. ing crazy.

Yeah, no one on SpursTalk rips about Neal's shooting ability - it's more about his defensive capabilities. He really did seem lost a lot of the time, but he was a pure shooter with balls and guts.

Yeah, if we could just have Neal in the last 3 minutes of quarters and on offense only, it would be great. It sucked to see classyball "execution" down the stretch trailing by 8, just passing around, everyone afraid to make a play or shoot. Neal would've tried getting to the hoop or the line.

7 millions fans actually, and it was aired the same time as the biggest football match of the year, basketball is the most popular team sport in Europe after football. Pop know that he win more than he lose by letting his players play with their NT. By the way, without his NT Parker would have never been the player he is now. And without the le this summer not sure Boris would have changed.

I am still angry with Neal and his defensive ups, he really did suck on that end of the court. I still want to hit him for leaving a shoeless Mike Miller wide open and also giving up that three to Chalmers at the end of the 3rd quarter, but still, the guy isn't a pussy when it comes to shooting. People here keep trashing him and I don't think they realize that it's not easy to find shooters like Neal. I don't want guys that can only shoot against the bad teams in the regular season. I don't care if you miss, but you GOTTA shoot the ball with confidence. The Spurs didn't really get anyone significantly better than him, so I don't think they should have let him go, especially if they were going to sign a scrub like Ayres with that money.

I am just trying to emphasize that the shooters on the team MUST shoot with confidence and make their shots. This team can't go anywhere if that doesn't happen. A lot of them seem like they are scared to shoot when the pressure is higher against the best teams in the league, or they simply don't shoot with the same confidence when we play the good teams and they are putting more pressure on you. You can't shrivel up and disappear. It puts too much pressure on Tim, Tony, Manu. These young guys need to step the up and stop letting the older guys carry their asses. Kawhi, Danny - I am looking at you.

I have no idea why the Spurs didn't try and sign at least one more creator in the off season. We're back to Manu and Tony as the only two players on the team that can create for themselves.
