OT: Anderson Silva mimics Kobe in his fight

This is one thing in UFC that I'm really surprised doesn't happen more often.

It's a risky kick because when someone puts their knee to your shin, you will most likely injure your foot when you hit hard. Usually the bone doesn't break, but it was a combination of hitting the wrong place and putting a lot of strength into that leg. Great defense by Weidman, bad luck for Silva.

Weidman only knocked him the out 30 seconds into the 1st. Eyes rolled back, legs went jelly, and he was immediately taken to the mat and pummeled for 15 seconds.

Any other round and that's a TKO.

Weidman won that fight.

Granted I had a side bet on him as a champ underdog (pretty rare), so I was hoping for it, but Silva did nothing but get pummeled for entire 1st and then had his toothpick snapped in 2nd.

Silvas always been equal parts lucky and good. Luck is swinging the other way, it seems.

Truth. I am sad to see the fight end that way and who knows with Silva what would happen. However, Weidman clearly was better than Silva in every ing department.

Its weird, the day before this fight I used the Corey Hill broken leg pic in another thread. I was thinking the same. I couldnt believe when it happened to Silva, that was the first thing that came to my mind.

Silva's kick clearly went to Weidman's knee, which is a lot worse.

It took a while for Silva to notice that his leg broke like a piece of twig. Damn

It's called kick defense...he checked the kick and Silva's shin gave in, he deserved the W. Weidman put his knee on the shin and he broke it.

Tough break for Silva, but he wasn't on course to win the fight anyway, in all the rounds he faced against Weidman, he never even looked as good. He nearly got knocked out in the first round.

Weidman knocked him out in the first fight too.
