Jeff Ayres better be in a suit for the playoffs.
Nice to see him man up a bit. Perhaps he would have been able to have one last helpful game in the Finals when Pop would have given him the chance. But it's too late now.

Jax laying the groundwork for an emotional return to the Spurs at age 42
very nice. pure class and a show of humility from a real dude, stak5!!!
Nah man. Way too late for any of that. A real dude would have kept his mouth shut, played his role, and enjoyed playing any part that was given to him in the Finals. I really liked the dude, too. But all the respect that San Antonio had for him before the end of last season, is forever tarnished.
Too bad he realizes that now.... Either way, he's looked pretty damn horrible with the Clippers so far...
Jack is done. I'm not convinced he would have helped in the playoffs even though I was a firm believer in him.![]()
All the fatal attraction fans in this thread immediately changing their tune on Jack.
"Come to think about it, that was a pretty badass Miami hat."
I could see SJax and Manu going at each other pretty hard and Manu getting injured during the game...
He is done, he has been done since last year but I appreciate him saying he was stubborn and it was his fault and finally admitting it. He after game 6 in OKC had nothing else to give IMO, that was his swan song and his last glimpse of game at all.

Sometimes a stat tells the whole story. Jackson will be waived because he sucked.
Maybe he could have gotten a guaranteed deal this year if he hadn't forced his way out last season. Too bad for him.
25% of this forum still believes he's a good player, tbh..
Can't move beyond 2003 ..and 80% of that 25% hates Manu!
His 1.7ppg could have put us over the top in game 6, tbh.
Clips rumored to be interested in Hedo.
Sources say SJax refused to admit that the Clippers' mascot was better than him.

I'm not sure it's just 2003. With Jackson, people don't remember the at ude, or the turnovers, or the chucked shots.
They remember Game 6 against Dallas when he and Steve Kerr willed the Spurs to the 2003 Finals.
They remember him hitting timely shots down the stretch against New Jersey in Game 6.
They remember Game 6 in OKC in 2011 when he was the only Spur who appeared to really give a damn about winning.
Jax gave us a lot of big moments, and that was his legacy, much moreso than the 12 PPG and 9 PPG he gave us in 2003 and 2011, respectively. That's what people are stuck on, and he earned that, to a degree.
The Jackson-fan in me is glad to see him man up and admit that he made a mistake. However, that just makes the Spur-fan in me even more pissed that he quit on the team. For that reason alone, I wouldn't want him back with the squad ever again. The fact that he completely washed up over the past 2 years is the icing on the cake.
Jackson disappeared in the 2nd half vs. OKC in 2012, people like to forget that his points came before crunch time.
Fuk yo career clown...
Jackson had 9 points (two 3PTs and three FTs) late in the 3rd quarter of that game. He was subbed out early in the 4th, came back with about 6 minutes left, and added 3 more FTs before Tim and Tony tried (and failed) to take over.
Obviously he didn't single-handedly pull off the miracle comeback, but I wouldn't call putting up 12 of his 23 points "disappearing".
