Prove that Durant's season is as good or better than Lebron's season last year. If you even can begin to argue that it's potentially better (which you suggest you can), than there ought to be quite a bit of obvious, conclusive evidence.
Are we gonna act like Lebron didn't average close to these numbers during the playoffs in 2009 tbh? (I didn't realize they were actually better numbers until I looked them up)
35.3 9.1 7.3 on .510% shooting in 14 games
For reference Durant is putting up these numbers
January
36.9 5.8 5.8 on .524% shooting in 12 games.![]()

Biggest knee-jerk ever. Wade in 09 looked this good too, if not better. So did LBJ in 09 and yes even Bean in 09. Until Durant does something worth a damn in the postseason, it just means he's a really good player. But better than LBJ?! Bull . Dude hasn't even proven that he's the consistent go to alpha on his team.
Can't wait to see what happens when Russ gets back.

Ok. Same TS% as Lebron last season, higher WS/48 and is on pace to have higher WS in a single season than Lebron's ever did and his current WS/48 is higher than Bron's has ever been.
Raw stats: KD is averaging 31 ppg on 50/41/88 shooting with 7.7 rpg 5.1 apg 1.5 spg 0.8 bpg
Lebron averaged 26.8 ppg 8 rpg 7.3 apg 1.7 spg 0.9 bpg on 56/41/75 shooting
KD has led his team to the top seed in the Western Conference, beating the 1st,2nd,5th and 6th seed just in the last week, averaging 43/5/5 on 73%TS, beating the Spurs on a b2b after beating Portland.
Oh, and he's doing this without a legit 2nd option on offense.
regular season, Pizzaface got his dookey pushed in by Tayshaun Prince in the playoffs
This discussion was about regular season stats, currently KD is on pace for one of the greatest regular seasons ever. We don't know what will happen in the playoffs.
Being the best player on the planet isn't about regular seasons.
I remember when LeBron would routinely put up godlike numbers and the same gots slurping KD now would cry about rings.....
Past achievements have 0 to do with the present. We can only compare players by regular season production if we want to determine who's playing at the highest level at this current time. And it has clearly been Beta.
The last time a poster created a thread like this one he got utterly embarrassed.
^ can't blame him tbh. He just came of backdoor sweeping the Spurs and he was on a role.
Lebron had other plans though.
That's why I've grown to respect the out of Lebron. was on a mission that year. Flip the roles now. It's our ing time. It's KD's time.
Yep. Agreed. January is definitely beta's time.![]()
^ Not really. The Spurs had him beat and Allen saved his legacy tbh. The Spurs & the Pacers match up really well against them. I don't think OKC can last 6 games.
you again
computer got geek who follows basketball
keep telling yourself that regular season doesn't matter after every decent team wipes the floor with your old ass team
Because of how winshares are calculated, the Heat's final 43~ games would almost certainly give Lebron a higher winshare amount for that stretch given that they were 40-3.
Same thing for the 66 win Cavs. Almost certain you could find a stretch in there that would match the Durant stretch. It's too much effort to calculate winshares by hand though.
Are we comparing him to players in the Earth's mantle, or core?
higher WS/48 when its a mere .001 higher.
Lebron had a considerably higher eFG%, higher rebound %, assist %, and higher PER.
Durant is taking probably 4-5 more shots per game than Lebron did, when you add in FGAs and FTAs, so of course his scoring will be a bit higher, but Lebron is a considerably better floor leader and defender.
Are you seriously comparing this stretch that Durant is having, to Lebron's stretch last year where he shot under 52% in only 3 out of 26 games, and led his team on that 27 game win streak, despite Wade playing hurt and even missing some of the games?
Yea Westbrook has been out, but Reggie Jackson is no joke himself. He looks fully capable of being a 15-20 PPG scorer, and has basically done just that since Westbrook went out. He's not Westbrook, but he's better than people think, and has a lot of talent. Don't make it seem like Durant is doing this with no help, just because Westbrook is out.
On a basketball sports forum of another team calling other people "computer gots".
This reminds me of the time benefactor claimed Durant>King after the first game of the '12 Finals.![]()
Lebron is still the better player, but Durant is the best player offensively by a mile. And he's on a hot streak, the likes of which we haven't seen since Kobe in 2007 tbh.
Durant is no doubt killin it right now.
Until KD can play both sides of the floor consistently, he will never be better than Lebron.
Remember everybody it is still January. You make your mark when it matters, and that's in the playoffs.
The haters are getting all giddy over Durant now. They are hoping he can be the one to stop Lebron in June. Indiana and OKC will be the 2 hopes for the haters this season, tbh.
