The return of Stephen Jackson. Have the Clippers waived him yet?
Yes. A couple of weeks ago. I'd love that. Come back Captain

Another showing of bad timing with the Spurs' FO. Not that paying him really hurts them. Still, I hope they at least try to buy out Bertans when he gets healthy.

WTF? I thought he was signed for the remainder of the year?
Yep. He was. He can be waived to clear a spot. Like De Colo and Baynes, as well.

I can't see the Spurs releasing Thomas for another D-leaguer... Just seems like a move that makes no sense.. especially considering his contract became guaranteed.

This has the making for a trade or free agent signing with a veteran player IMO.

Melo probably wants out of NY.

Cavs may want to rid Anthony Bennett

Pop just said in an interview after the Milwaukee game he's developing him. The only reason to wave him is to sign someone who's a 3, Thomas being a 4, because we Absolutely need someone there.

Well I'm with you but it looks like it's pretty much done and only needs to be announced :

clearing a spot to take on two players in a deal is possible.

Yeah, but releasing him for a guaranteed contract in my opinion shows that they are looking for something bigger. Not to mention a "10 day deal" seems like they are just looking for someone to fill the void right now - while they target a trade.

Still don't know why they didn't keep Thomas for that though.

They could waive him at any time. If they needed his spot for a bigger deal, they could have waited until right before it happened. They probably do juat intend to sign 10-days for now.

It'll be interesting to see if they person they sign, whoever that may be, will actually have any positive impact.

And am I the only one wishes they waived Errors and kept Thomas?

This is just odd. They really guaranteed MT's deal strictly because they saw him as a PF only when the Spurs already have a ton of PF's??

If you believe in someone, why on Earth would you let them go for a stop gap D-Leaguer who's not proven anything? Just because he already had a previous stint with you?

If that report was true, I wonder if maybe they intended on moving one of our PF's? Who knows

Spurs are so far below the tax that they could afford this kind of move financially wise. They can "waste" a few $100K easily.

What made Thomas special was his new found 3 point shooting and he has been atrocious for about 1 month in that area. Not only was he missing his shots, but he was missing them badly. If Spurs have reached the conclusion that his early 3 point shooting streak was a fluke and that he would likely never be a good 3 point shooter, waiving him isn't a big deal.

The FO looks out of control since the Finals tbh... ty move after ty move... Ayres + Beli + picking up Cojo's option + signing Thomas and waiting after the deadline to waive him, basically paying him to play in the D league... And now we have Jeffers...

Waiving MT is not the issue - it's the logic. If they believe he was a PF only, why even bother signing him? If you believe he had improved his 3PT shot enough to guarantee his money, why then lose faith after one month of not so good 3PT shooting?

The money aspect is irrelevant to me. Its the logic and the fact they want to replace his spot on the roster with a guy who sucks. Others might suck too, but there are a few guys who appear to be better fits and suck less with more upside.

I am not pissed that Thomas was waived.

But I would be pissed if they waived him to get a scrub like Othyus Jeffers.
