Because in this particular case you followed Media's bent & judged the contract before it's even in effect. How about if next season (the first season of the $48 million contract) Kobe puts up 25/5/5 and at the end of June/'15 it's:::Kobe: 6 - the tired old bag Duncan: 4? If you're going to judge Kobe on the next contract, you must judge him by the current contract. You can't have it both ways just because Media told you--you could.
