I bet what is going to happen is you will hear reports after the fact that the Spurs tried to obtain "player x" but could not get a deal done.

I don't think it will be very honest reports, but more for the fans. The fact you have heard not one thing during the meat of the trade deadline is likely a very good indication of what the Spurs have tried to do. That and they are the least trading team in the NBA - literally.

This would be quite the wasted deadline especially considering their off season moves.

I would've bet $50 they were going to make a move. Weird.

Good pick up for them. While Shump isn't the most consistent knockdown shooter, he is another athletic wing who has shown ability to stretch the floor.

    .
^^^^^^^^^ I do not get why so many don't get this by now and yes it WILL happen again and all these threads (Especially this one) will be meaningless. I remember the Spurs heavily pursuing a while back in here and someone telling me some of these trades were reealistic , trade machines and other dreamed up crap at night, all meaningless very soon and time to move on to the real part of the regular season. Let the games begin.

I would not have bet a damn dime personally.

Also wouldn't mind buying the Raptors first rounder with Mills + Bonner and taking back a scrub like Fields.
If only we could merge CoJo and Mills into a single player. Fields' contract is ugly and don't think their first will be good enough to warrant taking on that kind of salary ($6.25mm = basically no flexibility next year).

OKC is going to be a handful with all the plus defenders they have now. But at least they didn't get Neal...

Shump is an overrated defender. I suspect, the OKC will get buyer's remorse pretty soon.

It's a gamble for OKC that could pay off... they already have Westbrook with a flaky knee... Shumpert is not far behind.

Lateral move for OKC tbh; can't play both him and Lamb at the same time and Lamb has been killing the Spurs this season.

The perimeter D of Jackson/Chuckbrook/Sefo/Shumpert would be scary... The worse defender is Chuckbrook... Beli Manu going against Shumpert/Sefo could turn into a TO fest... Kinda like Manu and Neal vs Bledsoe playing pressure D a while ago...
