Spurs front office ing over Antawn tbh..
Any of the buyouts >>> the ghost of Jamison. He is d-u-n-s-k-i-s.

If he's our buyout pickup, I'd rather see what Daye can do, tbh.

Jamison wouldn't make any sense, he plays the exact same style as Bonner, virtually no difference..one of them has an ugly counter hook shot, while the other has an ugly counter scoop shot..

What's clear is that the Spurs should be able to get a good forward FA if they want to. This really is looking like the best buyout period in years, and it could get better over the next week or so as teams like Detroit, Minnesota, New Orleans and Cleveland potentially give up on the season.

But seeing as the Spurs have shown little urgency attack the SF hole so far this year, I don't know if they even try hard for anybody.

How soon can we expect a signing to be made (if one will be made, obviously)? Like is there some sort of deadline in terms of signing a player who gets bought out?

Jamison not only sucks, but is also cursed

Not sure why the Spurs would even want him, tbh....

No. They just have to be through waivers by the first of next month.

48 hours after a player is waived he can be signed to a new contract. No deadline to sign the player if he is waived before 3/1.

Any ideas on a timeline. This could be some welcome news.
Something like 3 business days after he's placed on waivers.
It's actually 48 hours including weekends.

Chump's right. Waiver request must be filed by March 1st, player clears 48 hours later, and can sign anytime after that. That much I looked up.

I recall that such players can sign all the way up to the final day of the regular season, but I couldn't find confirmation of that.

I would be fine with any of MWP, Clark, or Granger. MWP to me seems like the most realistic option.

    no to Antawn Jamison.

MWP would be a solid pick-up. He has a past of coming up big in the playoffs, But I'm not implying that he'd make a substantial difference or anything.

At least he has the championship/playoff experience Granger lacks. Hey, it's something.

My personal ranking for the Spurs from all the free agent SF's being bought out:

    1. Danny Granger
    2. Earl Clark
    3. Caron Butler
    4. Metta World Peace

Why are some of you so attached to the idea of Metta on the team? Not only is he completely washed up but he's not the kind of guy the Spurs go for. Stephen Jackson the second time around didn't work out, what makes you think Ron would?

Granger or Clark would be absolute best case scenario. I'm not even sure what to think about Big Baby at this point.

The fact that Jamison is the worst possible choice means we're getting him no doubt.
