San Antonio isnt "black enough" for Granger, he's headed to LA imo.

Hahaha, I'm the last person to be like that but I'd rather NBA players be more open-minded about where they play.
Give me 10million a year and I'd even play in a hole like Oklahoma City tbh. Most NBA players would follow suit, I guarantee it.

    Wow.

This cycle repeats itself over and over. If Granger chooses the Clips over the Spurs, so be it. Why do people on this forum get so sensitive that they have to vilify the guy??

Good luck to you wherever you go Danny. I hope you fully recover and have a chance to play a meaningful role for a contender.

What amuses me is that this whole buyout situation is totally inflating Granger's worth. His knee has really sapped the talent that most people are remembering, and he's looked like a s of his former self since he returned.

Whether Granger goes to LA or SA, he will likely be a bit player filling 10-15 mpg, and probably won't be a huge factor in the playoffs.

Exactly. This isn't the Danny Granger that was an all-star. Truth be told, he shouldn't be getting a lot of minutes even if he chooses the Clippers.

He won't put the Spurs over the top, tbh. None of these guys waived will.

@ the narrative developing over the last few pages.

If Granger chooses a team that offers a larger role in a city where he already owns a home then we can blame Pop and RC for not trying hard enough.
The reality is this: The last relatively big name(s) that weren't mixed, foreign, or white, that chose the Spurs, were McDyess in '09 and Finley in '05. The former chose them because he lived in Houston and was basically out of options, as far as the combination of MLE money, a potential starting role and to play for one of the better teams in the league (yet despite that, it still took him unusually long to accept their offer). The latter chose them because he wanted to continue living in Texas and to get revenge on the team that amnestied him, who just so happened to be the Spurs arch rivals at the time, or at least viewed themselves as such.

Even in Duncan's prime, none of them picked the Spurs. And I don't want to hear about the market; it's been repeatedly proven that players go to where they think they have the best chance to win and at one time, that was definitely the Spurs. So if it's not for either of the two reasons I cited earlier, why didn't/don't they?

The spurs sales pitch has to be about state income tax and easier gun laws in Texas

Obviously, he was on his last legs, but I mean in terms of credibility. He was a former All-Star and Olympian and had had a good career.

Really? I feel like we see this every year V
"Well, The FO did it again. They failed to bring in an all-star and now we're all going to sink in the diaper the FO wore to work this morning. this team, Poor Tim Duncan. He doesn't deserve this, Damn... Stupid Pop won't unleash ___, Stupid role players can't play like All-Stars, And Manu/TP beacuse ____. Not to mention our Silver Dancers who can't 'dance' for crap. How DARE other franchises for not giving us a gifted, athletic, starting-caliber Forward in exchange of Bonner/Cojo/Some other scrub. We could've even thrown in our 28th pick for crying out loud! This team is NOT built for a playoff run. Sorry Duncan "

Because of the money and the nightlife and because it was L.A. and thus, more exposure. That's how the culture is working nowadays.
Let's be real now, if all he wanted was "exposure," he'd be choosing between the Lakers, Knicks, and Heat, not the Spurs and Clippers....

Yes, but the Clippers are relevant and are in LA too. Clips get a lot more exposure than the Spurs, tbh..

    Winners.

If he values winning, he'll come here. If he doesn't, he'll go to LA.

    Simple as that.

I don't think Granger is a player that needs exposure.... May be during his prime yes, but not at this point of his career. I think he will select the team that he thinks will have a good chance to compete in finals.... You can say Spurs has better chance to compete, but so as the Clippers...This will boil down to which team badly want Granger in their roster.

And it will boil down to how much sense Granger has inside his head.

So you are saying the clippers have as much chance as the spurs in being contenders.. If granger wont be the savior of the spurs, how is he going to be the savior of the Clippers?
