"The Hulk"
Or your explanation is Texas is counting on landing Wittek for two years.
"The Hulk"
OrangeBloods saying the mother of QB/ATH JW Ketchum was blown away and "shocked" (in a good way) by the visit. She said it was completely different, and unlike anything else, they've seen so far.
Max Olson @max_olson
Boerne QB Quinten Dormady says Texas, Tennessee showing most interest right now. No offer today. He'll throw for Watson this spring.
For those that don't know, Dormady tore his labrum last spring so he missed his entire junior season.
He probably has multiple offers right now had he not been injured.
MAX_olson: Sasche CB Jared Mayden offered by Texas today
Yeah. I'm thinking the one QB thing answers any questions about Ash's health and Swoopes' future position.
That QB camp is going to be very interesting.
MAX_olson: Sachse CB Jared Mayden offered by #Texas today. A 2016 recruit who came in at 6-0, 185 today. Family friend of Marquise Goodwin.
Okay? So this is a 6'5 320lbs kid? And he is 15-16 years old? Kendell Jones is unique in so many ways!

FWIW, Howe and Munroe of 24/7 crystal balled him to Texas after he was offered.

With these 2016 offers I think the writing is on the wall for Hemphill.
that talk of swoopes switching positons =............... swoopes = break out season

Apparently 2016 Sachse CB and new UT offer Jared Mayden is the cousin of Lifetime Longhorn WR Marquise Goodwin. This is likely the reasoning behind him being predicted to Texas so early. Do we receive a commitment soon?

Texas junior day! Love the new staff! #StrongHorns #HookEm

QB/ATH JW Ketchum of Fort Bend Marshall reviews JD2 (24/7):
“It was such a great visit,” said Ketchum. “Thankfully I got to go and check out everything because I didn’t think I was going to be able to. Getting to meet with the new coaching staff was the biggest deal for me. It was the thing that I really needed to do, I felt, when it came to Texas since I didn’t know them."
“I love this staff,” he added. "These guys mean business and I like that. They’re here to win and that’s what I’m about.”
“They want me exclusively at quarterback,” Ketchum told Horns247. “They said I’m only a quarterback to them and that’s exactly what I needed to hear. I want the ball in my hands. I feel like that’s where I’m the most dangerous, so hearing that was right up my alley.”
“I don’t want to rush anything,” he said. “I want to be sure of my decision. Today’s junior day trip though, it was a good one. It was a big deal for me."
Former Longhorn great, Johnnie Johnson, talks about JD2 and both of his sons receiving offers (24/7):
“I wouldn’t say I would push them, because they know how great the University of Texas is,” Johnnie Johnson said. “I have definitely let them know it though. If they wanted to follow in their old man’s footsteps, well then that would be fine with me.”
“We’re going to go back home and discuss this with their mother and sit down as a family and talk about it,” said their father, former Longhorn All-American defensive back Johnnie Johnson. “Then we will go from there.”
“We all loved it,” said Johnnie Johnson. “This whole coaching staff here is great. My sons and I loved them all. Each coach seems to really be valuable to this program and is here for a good reason. That was one of the best parts of the visit. I know my sons really enjoyed spending time with them.”
Update on 2016 CB Jared Mayden of Sachse after receiving his offer today (24/7):
“I couldn’t believe it,” said Mayden. “I was so nervous, but not in a bad way. I'm just so surprised about it all. It’s such a blessing to have it and to know that I have an offer from Texas, one of the best schools out there.”
“The culture here has changed so dramatically,” he told Horns247. “I was telling my mom that it’s night and day. Honestly, with the old staff, Texas was slipping on my list. This staff has put them back at the top. I’d say they are up there as my favorite now.”
“It definitely crossed my mind (committing on the spot),” said Mayden. “I want to wait though, like they said. I’m thinking maybe before my season next year so I can get it out of the way. Texas is up there for me though, so they don’t need to worry.”
Quotes from DT Darrion Daniels of Dallas Bishop Dunne after JD2 (24/7):
"It was nice. It wasn't as detailed (before) as it is now," Daniels told Horns 247. "I learned a lot."
"I was watching film with Coach Rumph and he said that I need to use my hands a lot more and as he showed me and slowed it down I saw it,” Daniels said. “So that's what I need to work on."
"He said up here they can provide me with the help that I need,” he added. “He's not gonna change my game. He's gonna take the game that I have and increase it and make it better than what it is. It was nice. I loved (Coach Rumph).”
"At first, I liked UT, but I didn't really see myself in burnt orange," Daniels said. "Now, talking to the coaching staff and seeing the way they are, I think I could see myself there."
"During the season I want to go ahead and have my top five and then after the season is when I'm gonna make my choice," he said.
Update on DT/DE Kingsley KeKe of Rosenberg George Ranch (24/7):
“Man, what an awesome day,” KeKe said. “Even though I wasn’t offered I had a blast. Texas showed me a lot today. I wasn’t expecting it to be as great as it was to tell you the truth.”
“Coach Rumph told me he wants to come out and see me soon,” KeKe told Horns247. “I respect that. He’s new and I’m new to him, so you have to give them time to get to know you. It’s something I know will all fall into place, so I’m just looking forward to him coming out and evaluating me. Then we can go from there.”
I would love to know what all goes on the last few Saturdays that is pumping these kids up. Just got to win this year and all will take care of itself. People can ride the SEC bandwagon all they want but at the end of the day Texas has a better road to the playoffs than A&M. Would you rather make the playoffs or finish 4th in SEC West? Hmmm
Quick quote from 4-star DE Darian Roseboro of Lincolnton (NC.), from 24/7.
“Actually, I’m starting to like a little Texas — just what I’m building with their defensive line coach (Chris Rumph). He's a fireball. You can just sit there and tell that he loves the game of football, and he can sit there and just tell you about it."
He plans on making his decision right before he plays his first game as a senior.
Since DeUnte Chatman post here, or someone close to him does, I thought this was worth posting.
Damn that's impressive - not far off Tony Brown who had highest score in TX last year with 136.
Texas LB Peter Jinkens and Punter/Kicker Nick Rose were involved in a car accident with another vehicle today. Both were unharmed. I imagine the accident was a result of the ice and sleet conditions in Austin.
