You're right it was the 2nd round. Fact remains they won 55 games without him and the 2nd round of the playoffs. If Jordan was playing, they win 65+ games and the le. Jordan comes back the next year in March with most of the season over not enough time to work off the rust and after a year and a half, Bulls still make the 2nd round again. If Jordan doesn't ever "retire" Bulls easily 65 games both of those seasons and home court throughout the playoffs.
He was still a professional athlete, it wasn't like he was out of shape. He still put up good numbers. They still lost in 6 to the loser of the finals. He gets to use it as an excuse.

Do you think he's immune to fatigue or something? Everyone gets worn down. I don't care enough to put up the numbers, but when you're going to the finals every year you play a ton more minutes and don't get a whole lot rest than someone who misses the playoffs.

Obviously the 07 gift from Stern is the only one that REALLY deserves an asterisk.

All these others are conspiracy theories or excuses. But the Suns had won back home court advantage before Stern suspended Amare Stoudemire and Boris Diaw despite not being involved in any type of altercation.

The Suns would have had no trouble with the Jazz or Cavs in the next two rounds.

2000 Lakers, as Duncan hurt his knee just before the playoffs, and by your own stupid logic (or whatever passes for logic in your "I am pretending to be black," re iville brain), your sucka MC Lakers dodged the REAL CHAMPS.
RIIIIGHT....because the same two teams played in such a close series the next year and the year after that.

Oh wait...the Lakers won 8 of 9 playoffs games.

And the Lakers would have had HCA. Im skeptical the Spurs would have played them very close in Shaqs most dominant season.

Likewise, injuries HAPPEN. Theyre not legitimate excuses for losing.

Name another series in which a teams best player (or second best player) was suspended for a playoff game despite not touching anyone, not arguing with refs etc.

There was a crazy amount of media speculation about what Stern would do and he decided to strut his power hand a crucial game five to the Spurs.

Asterisk. They werent the best team. They just benefited from a stupid technicality.

Sunsfan's bitterness over '07 is hilarious.... firstly, Horry got suspended for two games while Amar'e only got suspended for one, so let's not act like the Spurs weren't punished.... secondly, Antoni probably would have found a way to choke to Utah - in fact, Utah owned you that year in the season series....
