Barcelona ain't gonna win the CL this year, you could just tell by the players body language and performances so far. Looks like they'll have to settle with winning the league and those meaningless spain cup les this year, winning the league might be reaching with the way Atletico is playing.

Leo is just not effective when he faces Atletico, the way they neutralize him is outstanding, Simeone really has him figured out. Iniesta was the only bright spot in yesterday's match with his god like dribbling.

I wouldn't write off Barca just yet. Atletico are a great defensive team, and they nearly outdid themselves yesterday on that front. Which of the other remaining clubs in the CL could have mustered this kind of defense against Barca? Chelsea, maybe, but that's it, and probably not as consistent as Atletico either. Sure, Barca do have their weaknesses (not the least of them defensively), but one could hardly expect them to score four or five goals against Atletico.
It's a dangerous result for Barcelona going into the second leg, that of course is true.

If Barca plays the way they did once Alexis came on and Fabregas subbed off they can do well next week.

The score could have been much worse, I always thought Atletico was the easiest draw Barcelona could have ever hoped for, boy was I wrong. They basically drew their kryptonite, a strong defensive team that's not scared of their powerhouse names. I wouldn't be surprised if we get knocked out, like you said, not even Chelsea could play great defense as consistently as Atletico.

I don't think Valdes would have stopped that.

    That was a wicked shot.
Yeah not even if you built a brick wall in front of that Diego shot it wouldn't have stopped it. Arguably the best goal of the entire CL so far.

Barca could be in big trouble next week. Hopefully Cesc doesn't start so Iniesta can play his natural position. Barca needs to play how they did after Atletico got their first goal.

No ing shot from that far out is unsaveable. Pinto was bad positioned (he was in the middle of goal when he should have been closer to the first post) and he reacted way too late. Valdes saves that without making a big fuss about it.

Wow Pastore ... my favorite player, I wished that he would come in and score and he did it, always good in the most important match unlike Ibrahimovic (I even thought his injury was a good sign because the trainer wouldn't have the gut to bench him).

Too bad Laurent Blanc doesn't understand that Pastore is not a midfielder but a 9 1/2 or a 10, he is always making him play as a midfielder despite him being absolute at defense.

Why are you giving me re: that tbh? I didn't say they suck because obviously the race is wide open despite Bayern being touted to repeat. Is it bad to point out that they're the only team without a local rival in the UCL?

Why don't you complain to Charles de Gaulle

Monaco has a great team this year, the club is now owned by a Russian and they've bought Falcao, James Rodriguez, Toulalan and other, with Ranieri as the head coach... Btw PSG couldn't beat them in the 2 games they played against each other this year...

They also have Abidal but he's not even playing anymore, Barca made the right call with him...

Well then I'll be happy for you if what's supposed to happen happens... And it's a ridiculous bet to make for the MU fan... But seeing Moyes the loser kick Guardiola and that incredible Bayern team out of the CL would be pretty damn funny...

Bayern were fielding a b-side today, so this loss means even less than it would anyway. It might even give them some extra motivation and focus for the game against United.
