No injuries? Great game.
Pop was brilliant, yea it would have been nice to win, but to win short handed, or at least push their entire roster to the limit with a limited roster is a win/win, as long as no one got hurt, and it doesn't appear that anyone did. In fact having to struggle to beat us without key players in, makes that sweep not taste as sweet, they can't be as confident as they were.
No injuries? Great game.
The two big keys tonight were that Harden was practically non-existent, getting more than half of his points from the FT line and committing idiotic fouls on defense, and that the Spurs shot very poorly from 3 (in part due to the lack of Green and Leonard). Harden's usually good for 25+ and the Spurs, while they haven't shot particularly well from 3 against Houston, will in all likelihood be better in the POs.
Is this the first 62-win team ever to be season-swept by two teams?
Is there a reason to believe he isn't? I didn't see him on the bench at the end of the game, but maybe I missed him?
We could still play Dallas too, no?
I'm surprised that some rocket fans (maybe not here but in general) feel so confident against us. 2 wins before the new year, then 2 games where both teams aren't at full strength is not a big deal. The end result will say 4-0 season series, but I think to the rocket fans that want to see SA might be disappointed if/when that match up happens.
Kept seeing posts on here that Tony went to the lockerroom but no official report.
Elliott: "rumblings that we are playing on Easter Sunday"
You want them to not try and lose against the spurs resting key guys? Um of course theyre trying to win
Spurs clinched Home court advantage with the best record already, which means OKC is the second seed and will be facing the Mavs. Spurs are going to face whoever wins tonight, either Memphis or Phoenix. I'm hoping it will be the Grizzles.
Parker and Pop we're yucking it up and joking around before tony said he was gonna take a shower get some treatment and get ready to go before he left.
If you ever get a chance to sit behind the spurs bench you have to do it. The timeouts are worth the price of admission alone.
Pop saying to Corey Joseph "what the offense are you running"
And telling Baynes to stop taking ed up layups and dunk the ing ball" was great as well.
Looks like we'll have a tough run this year - MEM in the first round (I'd prefer Dallas or Phoenix), HOU 2nd, OKC in the WCFs.
Me too... we have straight up owned the Grizz since 8.
The spurs play Dallas if Memphis wins the next two games against Phoenix and Dallas.
Anything else I'm not sure of.
I said that before I realised they were playing for HCA in 1st round.
I just find it humorous when our deep reserves play other teams' starters to a draw.![]()
This game today made me confident about beating the Rockets in the second round.
They'll sweep either Memphis or Dallas.
They'll beat Houston in five.
Houston is not a good basketball team at all. Their defense is so putrid.
Yep. Rockets players are probably feeling pretty confident about themselves if they meet up with us. Their defense will be their demise.
Phoenix is a bigger threat to me than Memphis but the 1st round should be easy for the Spurs, but yes the next 2 rounds will be tough assuming we get that far. If the Spurs can make the Finals again, they have to be heavy favorites to win it all.
They aren't feeling confident after tonight.
If the Rockets aren't making contested wild shots, they're dead in the water against this team.
I am still hoping the Paper Clips can steal the #2 seed. Give the Thunder a tougher series.
What hurts the Spurs is teams with good shooters, especially at the PG and SG position. We get torched by teams like the Warriors, Blazers, and almost lost to the Suns a couple days ago because of Eric Bledsoe
