IF (and that's a big if) spurs go to the WCF I'm not sure Memphis would be such a good thing

Last year game plan was to focus on Gasol and ZBO while letting wide open Prince and Allen. And that's why spurs swept them.
Now with Courtney Lee and Mike Miller that's no longer an option

Memphis could win it all this year IMO. They are built for the playoff
They have to beat some team that is playing well along the way.

Our two worst matchups are a game away from elimination. Close this series in 6, Spurs.
Terrible news for those who want the boring spurs out.

They don't have a 1st rounder this season. They also have $65 million committed to 10 players (cap is supposed to be about $63 million). Scola/ Hibbert/ Hill all could be on the trading block IMO. Hill is probably the toughest to move (he has $24 million left for 3 years). I've never like Mahinmi and Bynum isn't likely to return.

Both Stephenson and Turner are free agents. I'd assume they'd keep Stephenson though. They need a PG, A Center and a offensive spark (like Mills or Robinson off the bench)
Turner ended up being the Pacers' version of RJ, tbh... A total flop.

We season swept Dallas and all thought we would have an easy 1st round against them... LOL. Look where we are now.

If we somehow make it out off the 1st round alive (which I'm still very much on the fence about), if we survive Portland (another terrifying match up with the way Lillard, Batum, and LMA are playing) and make it to the WCF to meet what I'd assume to be Memphis or the Clippers, we will have our hands full.

Seriously if we somehow, someway end up winning a ring this year it will be probably the hardest road we've ever had.

I'm not really sure it would be that much easier just because OKC and Houston are eliminated.

Anytime you don't have to go through the #2 player in the league before facing the #1 makes things easier.

Yeah, but who's been the best player in the playoffs? So far, that is.

    LMA.

Spurs have to get past Dallas first, and given how both teams are playing, that's far from decided. But if they manage to advance, Aldridge will be a monster. He always lights up San Antonio. I wonder if the Spurs will defend Portland like they did the SSOL Suns - let Amare go off for 40 a game on single coverage and stay home on all the 3 point shooters. No open looks for Batum, Matthews, etc. And Parker has to be healthy enough to stay in front of Lillard.

The way Aldridge has been playing the Blazers might be a scary matchup. Luckily Tiago guards that better than most and has the quickness to keep up with him on the perimeter imo

We need a real sense of urgency now that okc may be done. portland looks great but Pop will outcoach them and their young team will not handle the pressure. They still live and die by the jumper and love taking jumpers which will be their doom.

I'm more terrified of Lillard and Matthews especially since our guards are mostly underwhelming at the moment.

But yeah Aldridge would be a handful.

No sense in looking ahead to MEM or POR. DAL has been tough, and Parker's ankle is iffy. Not sure Spurs can make it out of the first round with CJ playing backing up Mills. For all the dissing that Parker gets, it's very difficult to replace his points.

Part of me feels like Spurs will pull off an OKC, but at the same time, I can't see a team like SA doing that and I feel with the birth of his son Parker will have his best game of the series.

It's hard for the Thunder to get the calls when they continue to launch 22-30 foot shots in end of game situations.

Makes it much easier for Memphis to defend and the refs can't bail OKC out if they're not attacking the basket.
