because they need a vice and drinking really sets back training. you can smoke a bunch of bud and hit the weights early no problem...but lifting with a hangover is probably the worst thing you could ever do.
This isn't a "legalize it!" thread fyi.
Why the can't these jungle bunnies go a month without toking up? Whether you agree with the rules or not, it's hurting their careers and significantly hurting them in the pockets. It's just WEED you dumb spooks. Josh Gordon doesn't deserve to be suspended for smoking weed, alone--he deserves to be suspended for being an utter and complete dumb . Buffalo drafted U tackle Seantrel Henderson in the 7th round--THE SEVENTH ING ROUND--this guy is nasty and has all the physical tools, but he's already cost himself a ton of money and fell all the way to the 7th b/c he just wanted to smoke herb and get fat.
Never understood this ...it's not even that great a buzz, and all it does is make you a lazy fat --but to each his own.

Even if not, if it's a rule and you were busted thrice in college, twice in the pros, and were ing re ed enough to do it again, you belong an a mental ins ution
- Weed is a rehabilitation enhancer. It relieves pain. Last I checked NFL has alot of injuries
- But it also deteriorates motivation. When you smoke you are far less likely to smash your skull into a wall over and over.
of course all the potheads can't be bothered to understand the simple premise of this thread.
OP: "This thread isn't about whether or not pot should be legal, nor is it about any possible benefits of marijuana"
Pothead reply "LEGALIZE IT! WOOOOOOOO! If you weren't brainwashed by society, man, you'd know how beneficial marijuana is, man!"
The NFL is spending big $$$$$ on it's players, if they can't abide by the work place rules (like we all do) then um. A guy making millions can't be smart enought to realize his situation? the dummies!
Yes pot ain't and yes alcohol/tobacco are far worst, but the rules are what they are as stupid as they are.

Josh Gordon is actually getting off easy in comparison to a lot of everyday people who would be summarily fired from their jobs if they tested positive for marijuana. He's only being suspended and will have the opportunity to play again at some point.
Thing is, all he really has to do is take care of his money, and he can retire at 30 and smoke all he wants without anyone telling him not to for the rest of his life.
I can definitely sympathize with the "legalize it" angle for personal reasons, but the rule is what it is.
I'll start by saying I smoke weed regularly, and love it. I would not let it come between me and a lucrative contact/career.
The part that really doesn't make sense other than people jeopardizing MILLIONS to get high is that these dumb s not only could not quit in time for their combine activities, but also didn't take a cleanser, or a masking product to at least pass the UA. Stupid s.
If I was a GM I wouldn't pass on a player for failing the test, I would pass on them for being legally ing re ed. Vince Young and Morris Claiborne from the Cowboys proved their stupidy with two of the lowest Wonderlic Test scores, and look at their careers.
"Man, ain't nothin' on that test bout no football" - Mo' Claiborne when asked about his Wonderlic score
Maybe read the replies before you post next time.
