man i was watching this the other night:

if this goes on to become the last playoff performance of kobe's then i gotta say, he went out in style. 42 points man at 34 years old man, i dont think timmy has scored 42 in over a decade

Damn, thats actually a hard question to answer. I dunno anymore, and more importantly, who cares if he can muster up the ability to get bounced in the 1st or at best 2nd round anymore?

Not too optimistic about next year, I think the Lakers will fight for 8th or 7th assuming Kobe's healthy and management uses it's cap wisely. But if the best talent haul are Pau, Kobe plus one B grade Free Agent (Monroe, Bledsoe, Stephenson) and this years 7th pick, then we're looking at a 10th seed team.

What difference do Spurs "4 rings got" fans make from Kobe fans then?

I'm not surprised at all. What will surprise me is if they actually admit it

Not as the alpha. Exum might be able to get ya'll to the playoffs, but I'd bet against it. Too much dead weight on the team.

With whatever coach the Lakers hire it'll probably be irrelevant anyway. Bottom of the league team.

    I'd be very surprised, tbh..

Lakers don't really have much room for growth, and Kobe's style of play at his current age is going to make it very difficult to build a good team around him..he could play the role of 2nd fiddle, but he won't accept it and they won't be able to acquire a player good enough to be a #1..

If they have Scott as coach, that's the nail in the coffin, too..

In the YMCA League? Yes, if you give him a dominant big man to carry him.

weird as it sounds, if the lakers make the playoffs in the next 2 years, its probably because they're stupid and are trying to reload instead of doing the smart thing and rebuilding
