Lol outdated magazines
Just bought my first of three football magazines I'll be buying this season. This is the College Football 2014 edition. It's Lindy's 2014 College Football Preview, talk about totally covering the sport..wow! Every team there is is covered, yep...Coe, Furman, Alabama State...all of them. Hmmm...ok no junior college.
Lindy's also puts out an NFL Preview edition (middle of June) like the college preview it is loaded with everything you need to know, an amazing magazine.
The last one but the most important is MARC LAWRENCE PLAYBOOK (late June) there we have a must for anyone into betting the NFL/NCAA (Div I). Everything you could ever need to know is there. Thousands of trends and stats. His "historical trends plays" are hitting 60%. (NFL/NCAA)
I highly recommend those three mags for anyone really into football.
While here...keep an eye on Alabama running back Derrick Henry.
A great book to read about NFL betting is "The National Football League Lottery" by Larry Merchant. He breaks down a season of picks and why he made them, great read!
The best non fiction book on football I've ever read was "The Courtship of Marcus Dupree" by Willie Morris. Imagine an offense coming to the coach with...."could you take Marcus off the kickoff return team, we'd like to play"..haha!!!!!!
The greatest (according to SI and I agree) fiction book on football..ENDZONE..by Don Delillo, it's about an all white west Texas college that finally gets it's first black player Taft Robinson, ya gotta love this.......
"But mostly he could fly...a 9.3 for a hundred. Speed, he had sprinters speed. Speed is the last excitement left, the one thing we haven't used up, still naked in it's potental, that mysterious black gift that thrills the millions,"
Books written (obviously with an actual writer) by....Jim Brown, Terry Bradshaw, Kenny Stabler, Jack Tatum....great reads!
