Yes it's clearly against sexuality and it is a sin. But do you know what causes it? It's not genetic. It's caused due to bad parenting (fathers rejecting/neglecting their sons, mothers rejecting their daughters). It's a psychological developmental disorder that can also be caused by child abuse/rape and conditioning(media,porno,etc).

Pope Francis means by that quote that it's not Christian like to ridicule people who are mentally diseased. Instead of scaring them by telling them, " you are going to !" People should be helping them by educating them why they have sexual desires,so they could stop a behavior that is harmful to the body. I've known people(both men and women) who have come out of that lie called the gay lifestyle and embraced a hetero relationship. People who know the truth about it, use it to mind other more naive people.

Free will, we all have impulses. If you willingly choose to act upon them then that is a personal choice and a sin.

There are plenty of people who understand theology that believe the devil is a supernatural being.

Then they are not real theologians or are just leading people astray. Just because you might know the truth or part of the truth of reality doesn't mean you are going to use to help people understand themselves or others. There's a lot of evil greedy ers who just care about themselves. Look at priest, pastors( I'll even say judges, cops,etc). They are supposed to be the Jedi's of this world and protect all people against evil. But what to they do? Instead of protecting the weak(children) and innocent, they rape them! And for that, they will get judged more harshly that us little people. The children depend on us to guide them to what is right. Once we become corrupted, who is going to help the kids?

The dynamics of who you are attracted to our very complicated. Family dynamics play a major role. The way your father and brothers treat you play a major role. The way your male peers in grade school, plays a role. genetic predispositions(fat, short, asthma,etc)plays a role also. Childhood sexual abuse plays a role. Exposure to pornography plays a role. Like I said, do more research, read both sides of the argument and decide for yourself.

How can you include genetic predispositions in an argument against genetic predispositions?

And what about animals who exhibit sexual behaviors in nature? Do you believe they are also products of those same influences? And do you believe they have the same capacity as humans to make that choice?

The previous Pope before him was the Pope after John Paul the Second, which was Benedict the 16th who was forced to retire because he couldn't preside a mass anymore due to his health. I agree Pope Francis is a "down to earth" individual and also being perceived as more approachable because of his activities in 2013.
