Btw who gives a who gets mvp. Norris Cole can get it as long as Duncan rings.
There you go, 9 out of 9 baskets off great assists where Duncan doesn't have to do a lot more than just lay it up. Don't get wrong Duncan still positioned and finished at elite levels but there was non of that post up action you are talking about.

Manu. +22 saids it all. Duncan had 3-4 of those baskets from great passes from Manu. Manu was the reason the Spurs won tonight.
Intelligent kid. Have read other posts from you before, good takes.
Duncan was great too, of course, but Manu just changed the game.
Duncan, end of story. Anyone who says Manu is a got.
Manu kept the offense going with early threes and was able to find gaps in Miami's exceptional defense. In the second half he played better defense on Wade.
Cmon Rob, I agree TD was the 1st game's mvp but Manu did really well tbh.
Manu. Would have said Duncan if he didn't have the 5 TOs
They way Spurs play, it's almost impossible to say who was the best. When they win, it's because they got contributions from 6 to 7 guys. When they lose, there is usually one or two players that stand out.
I would say it´s a tie but Ginobili had two stretches that allowed the Spurs to stay in the game despite poor performances in the first quarter and the third quarter scoring most of his points when no one seemed to be able to throw it into the ocean.
I think it's hard when you look at the stat sheet but when you look at the game you see that the guys that have the greater impact are the playmakers, Tiago and Tim did good catching and scoring point blank shots but imo the assists are just much more difficult to make, especially against a small team playing the passing lane with no real defensive minded big...
I think Tim will be voted FMVP tho but I think Manu was the clear cut best player of game 1...
I know, I just like to talk .
Both Timmy and Ginobili played well. I vote for both....LOL!!! I like this photo!!!

Historically speaking. TD is in good company. Only other players to have a 20/10 game with 90% shooting in history is Bill Russel first then Wilt Chamberlain.
Therefore TD's performance was bigger.
I personally thought Manu was the best player in this game. Tim was great converting his looks but a lot of that was set up w/ some great passing ( a lot by Gino).
Roberto being a . . . as usual . . .
I could care less who played better as long as the end result is a ring . . .
Ginobili is the first player in NBA hstory since they track stats to record 15+pts 10+ assists of the bench in an NBA Finals game.
Sound reasoning...
Haha, you just trolling then, fine
I think this is key to remember going forward…Don't think he has the stamina to play hard and well for 4 quarters. If we can contain him in the first half, I think he will contain himself in the second half.
I was about to say how cool it would be for Manu to be the MVP of the 2014 finals so that each of our big three would have at least one Finals MVP per.
But I decided against it because I didn't want to jinx him or the team.
So i erased it all.
We are not having a pissing contest. We are lucky to have two players in their later 30s playing at such a high level still. Enjoy it, while we can.
