that "cooling break" clearly FIFA knee-jerk reaction to Euro teams dropping like flies... they're killing the one advantage americans team have...

It was a penalty but Robben deserves that. NED does nothing to win the game so far!

Spot on. It will be difficult to get back into NFL games when replays run longer than actual plays
Van Gaal cried to fifa about no water breaks.. he got his wish. smh
I remember Mexico '86, it was just as hot, and players did play the whole game... it's true that some players where numb with cocaine tho, but still...

As I see it right now, Mexico has been working the hardest to create chances, hopefully they dont die on us in the second half
FIFA World Cup: Netherlands Coach Louis van Gaal Wants Water Breaks for Mexico Clash
Temperatures for the 1pm kick off local time (1600GMT) for the last 16 game between the Netherlands and Mexico, are expected to reach 30 degrees Celsius with intense humidity also likely to drain players on both sides, leading Dutch coach Louis van Gaal wants water breaks for the clash.

Oh boy
Get ready for Van Gaal time at Old Trafford
He will be as hated as Fergie
I used to be a big time Cowboys fan but I had enough. I was a fan from 94-09. I still even have a Deion Sanders jersey in my closet. All the things about it and dissecting how stupid it was, I had enough. It's a sport for people with the attention span of a gnat and don't mind being constantly raped by ads.

I mean its kinda reasonable for them to get water breaks when its really hot hot, they need to rehydrate so sons
they've been careful with that bar the robben breakthrough which came from a slip (humidity & tendon stress, can't predict/care for that)
They should be more careful with the long balls for van persie, they were pretty good and that guy can finish.
Also, it was a penaldo for robben. Technically speaking when peralta lifted the ball over the dutch defender that was also a (weak, but correct!) penaldo. The ref has already made some big mistakes with the penaldos, not giving that dumb cotton collector a yellow for the obvious stepping over giovanni dos santos, not seeing a corner, not seeing some clear fouls which would've been good free kicks, and more. Thankfully, he's been impartial with his mistakes so in the end it evened out![]()
Frankly I don't mind seeing the netherlands go as they play some ugly and cheap football.
If they're going to be worried about the health of the players, then they're going to ban matches in high al ude, heavy rain, snow too?
It's bull .
that dude is re ed, typical dutch got.
they ban matches for heavy rain, and the majority of world cup level stadiums are pretty protected.
I don't remember a WC at high al ude, maybe mexico in the 70s?
aaand
son, when is the last time a world cup was played on snow?

Good goal!

Golazo ees
why the health of the players only matter in the WC???
that's exactly the hypocrisy I'm talking about.
