Just watched the first 16 minutes of Game 3 of the Finals, and still can't believe it. 55 points on 90.5% shooting. I couldn't do that on NBA2k even exploiting with constant pick and rolls. I can't imagine someone doing that in December to the Bobcats, much less on the road against the 2x defending champs.
Seriously. Unreal how we pulled that off.

Hard to bet against the best player in the world. SA hasn't seen a defense like Miami's all postseason long...... when they are locked in, it's incredible to watch.

    hey guess what.

    Tim Duncan has 5 championships.
Duncan has to be a top 5 player in NBA history. les 15 years apart and still the best player on the team. Kawhi might have had a better finals, but the entire playoffs was a Duncan show, night in and night out.

5 les, 5x the best player in the playoffs.

Very few players in NBA history can claim that.

Plus he isn't done yet, one more year under contract, and it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if he signed up for two more years after that.

Yep i think the only guys you can say for sure are above Duncan in terms of achievements, both team and individual, are Jordan and Kareem.

Although guys like Wilt, Russell, Magic, Bird have damn good arguments to be > Duncan.. Timmy stands up against any of them.

Yeah it is still pretty amazing after last years collapse, I thought that was what we would be left with as a last memory! Instead they won it all in epic fashion and blew up a team! Not only that we beat Dallas in a game 7, Portland who has been our problem for years in 5, OKC to avenge 012 and the Heat from last years game 6. Who could have asked for more?

Jordan and Kareem are my 1-2. I have magic 3rd. Duncan 4th. There is no way you'd take 5 guys before Duncan in a fantasy nba history draft based on his longevity and dedication to the team. There are guys who put up better stats... Most of them were headcases. Duncan is a true leader and if history is wise will put him in the top 5 of all-time. If he gets #6 I would move him to 3rd on that list.

So, what's the new chant going to be now that "Drive for Five" is no longer apropos?

Winning the Championship still feels so damn good.

Damnit, everytime I browse through the thread I get the strong urge to watch another Spursgame of the Playoffs/Finals. Should I fight it?

    I don't think so:

i never checked in with this thread. i'll admit, i've been a spoiled fan. I forget how truly amazing the spurs are, from top to bottom. I might not agree with all of their moves, but i'm not an expert. and they clearly are. Go Spurs Go!!!

I'll never forget the dunk that Kawhi almost threw down. It was going to make the big put back look like child's play.

The best thing about that dunk attempt was it came on a broken play. Mills had almost turned the ball over passing the ball out to Kawhi at the top, and Lebron almost nabbed it. The steal attempt put him out of position though, and from that point, Leonard had only one thing in mind.

Too bad Anderson get him right on the upper arm or that dunk was going down.
