money, playing time, higher option.
Didn't Tony Parker reach out to Gasol? They were some posts about it on here. As for Gasol, I wanted him in SA. If that eater thinks he's winning in Chicago he's simply wrong. Completely and utterly wrong.
money, playing time, higher option.
2010
According to the 2010 Census, 1,327,407 people resided in the city proper of San Antonio, an increase of 16.0% since 2000.
The racial composition of the city based on the 2010 U.S. Census Bureau is as follows:[34]
- 72.6% White (Non-Hispanic Whites: 26.6%)
- 6.9% Black
- 0.9% Native American
- 2.4% Asian
- 0.1% Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander
- 3.4% Two or more races
- 13.7% Other races
In addition, 63.2% of the city's population was of Hispanic or Latino origin, of any race.
Chicago:
As of the 2010 United States Census, there were 2,695,598 people and 1,194,337 households residing within the city limits of Chicago.
The ethnic makeup of the population is 28% Hispanic (of any race) and 72% belong to non Hispanic background(of any race).
So it doesn't matter what the total population is, it's the racial makeup of the city that matters. Surely NY has more Hispanics than San Antonio just due to having a larger overall population.
If you're in a tub that has piss in it from 10 people, is that better than being in the ocean that has piss in it from 10,000 people?
You need to qualify the term "winning". He won already, every pay day is a huge win for a guy who only dribbles and shoots a ball.
He aready has a ring. Now he wants stats and $$$$$$, neither of which he will get in SA.
Spurs don't need Gasol. They need a serviceable backup SF and a PG to play spot minutes while Patty is out.
Why anyone is still ing about Gasol is beyond me, tbh. He got paid like twice of what the Spurs could have paid him. The only way we could have gotten him was if we let Patty and Diaw go, which is dumb. If we were able to offer him the same amount as Chicago, I'm fairly certain he would have chosen us. Everyone makes it sound like FAs don't choose us, but the truth is we're always nearly capped/capped out. We haven't been able to offer FAs big contracts since the early 2000s.
stfu DMC, do you ever get tired of me ting on you?
And you clearly said Mexicans you fat . Just admit you were wrong like a real man.
Our newly hired coach isn't Spanish. He's Italian.
Spaniards aren't exactly fans of blacks, tbh. They call them 'monos' which means monkeys.
llantas
At least he'll have more money when he loses in Chicago.
Interesting analogy you picked there...
Nobody comes here because 1) it's San Antonio, and 2) because despite all the things we say here on ST about how players should want to win rather than take the money, they don't. Players literally almost always take the money over a chance to be in a better winning situation, especially players who have already won a ring. Players are compe ive and want to win, but they're not stupid. They know they're only going to play for so long, so they wisely take the money. And in this instance, the opportunity to play more minutes and be a focal point of the offense. And if you were a player, you would almost certainly do the same. It's nothing personal. It's just the nature of the beast.
ing idiots throughout this pile of thread.
In the case of Gasol, the Spurs couldn't offer him enough minutes or a starting position. He will also get more touches in Chicago.
After state and city taxes, maybe not...![]()
They don't come here cause they 're scared of pop and the spurs system is a to learn. And lastly, it's San Antonio and San Antonio ain't crunk enough for the brothas.
That's okay, we only want intelligent basketball players living here in San Antonio anyway, have to weed the wheat from the chaff.
When Duncan and Ginobili Retire, your prob gonna see R.C and Pop hump everything that moves during free agency. They are just fat and happy right now.
Should also be noted that Gasol signed for 3 year/22 million - which is a decent bit more than the MLE. Lets not pretend money doesn't matter. So, good for the Bulls and Gasol.
I think nobody wants to come here because the big 3, Pop, and the obvious small market reasons.
Whoever comes here knows they'll have to take a seat behind the big 3, effecting their playing time, role, whether they're starting etc. Pop is a tough coach that doesn't fall for BS, 90% of these guys in the NBA don't respect their coach, they're immature guys that want to half ass everything.
Lets be real. Who cares about the city when you supposedly "want to win another ring". You get paid millions of dollars to play basketball. Just ing play and go to a big city in the off season.
Or because the Spurs have no money and no playing time to offer. Just a stab in the dark here.
