that's why i never understood why Philly chased Nnamdi so hard and paid him that much. the raiders exclusively played man and Nnamdi was the best corner in the league for a few years. the Eagles put him in a zone and he went to , rotted away the last couple of years his legs had
Pretty good analogy. When you know a guy can shut anyone down in man coverage, there's no reason to play them in zone outside of the occasional play when you're trying to surprise the offense.

i still remember one time we were playing AZ, and they had Nnamdi shadow fitz... and i think he held him to 1-2 catches all day, no big plays. and they waited until the last drive of the game in the redzone to play nnamdi away from fitz for one play. touchdown.
well there is no reason why a top man2man corner can't be a great zone corner too.. it's a waste sure, but no reason to be as ty as constantly happens.
