    Marion is a monster. He is the real MVP of the suns.
    Yeah I guess that other guy who dominated the Mavs in the playoffs last year and running a team who is the 3rd seed without their dominant big man and dealing with 4-5 new players is a good role player and not a superstar .

    Yeah true but Nash does get help. Nash didn't help Marion get 24 rebounds unless effort has to do with scoring. Dampier is an example of a player who needs to score to put out the effort on the boards.
    OK then...

    Nash = Offensive MVP
    Marion = Defensive MVP

    What are the Suns known for?

    Yeah so all those extra offensive rebounds and scoring opportunities without a play was done by Nash? Marion is the man and Nash is good to but not the MVP of the league.

    My guess is that we'll have to agree to disagree.

    Ya know, they were originally traded for each other (Nash for the #9 in '99).

    Funny, Ironic, whatever...

    Marion is the man. He's one of my favorite Suns all time. He's not their MVP, however.

    Not good enough to be MVP????? If you take Nash away from this team they dont even win 30 games. Marion is a damn good player but Nash runs that team. Marion helps with the boards and the scoring but Nash distributes the ball with his driving and dishing. I know he is an ex-mav and that he sent you guys on a fishing trip but saying Nash isnt superstar/MVP material is just pure hate. He is the best PG in the game and my vote to win the MVP again.

    I guess I could say the same thing about Josh Howard. Dirk might put up the most impressing stats but Howard does all the little things to make Dirk and the rest of the team better.

    He doesn't play defense. Marion makes up for his weaknesses. Of course you are too stupid to see that. You got your head up your ass and see things only one way. The fact is Marion is just as important to the suns as Nash.

    spurs showed that when bowen severely limited his production in wcf last year. i dunno if he is as important, but he is vital to their success.

    Shut down Marion's production and the suns are weak. The spurs were smart in putting Bowen on Marion and put Duncan on Q. The mavs should've put Howard on Marion and Dirk on Q but I guess Avery is inexperienced.

    Dude I gave you stats of the mavs defense. It isn't great but it isn't "zero defense team" like you said. The mavs are even better this year on defense and that alone should be a threat to your teams chances of advancing.

    Wow, can't believe there are still peeps who underrate Nash's importance to the Suns. Last year these people claimed that Amare was the real MVP of the Suns; this year they're anointing Marion?? LMAO!

    Consider the facts for a while: in 2002-03, Marion, Amare, Joe Johnson and Marbury played the entire season (no injuries), and the Suns won 44 games and the 8th seed.

    2003-04: Marion and JJ were mostly healthy (79 and 82 games respectively), but Amare missed 27 games and Marbury missed 48 games. The result: the Suns stumbled to a mere 29 wins.

    2004-05: Nash and Q join the team. Compared to the team of 2 years ago, basically Nash and Q replace Marbury and Penny (who was still a serviceable 10 ppg scorer). The team goes from 44 games to 62 and the 1st seed. You think Marion was the difference-maker? Not a chance. And the people who claimed that Amare's improvement was the sole difference-maker can go ahead and explain how the Suns are on pace to win 56 games without Amare. Or is it because of the "improvement" of Boris Diaw? . Bottomline: Marbury/Marion/Amare/JJ = 44 wins, while Nash/Marion/Diaw/Bell = on pace for 56.

    Sure, one can spin a story full of coincidental happenings such as Amare's rapid intrinsic improvement (i.e. no help from Nash), and Diaw's miraculous improvement, and Q-Rich having one extraordinary year before tanking for the Knicks etc etc. The much more plausible explanation is that Nash is really the difference-maker, and has made the game so much easier for teammates by putting them in easy positions to score.

    Marion, Diaw, Bell are all having career years with Nash. Q had his only decent year with Nash. Amare made a gigantic leap when Nash arrived on the scene. Coincidence? I think not. Nash is far and away the mvp of the league this year; same as last year.

    Thank you. But it should not be a shocker that Mav fans will disagree with that because Nash is a former Mav who torched them last May. It is okay to hate the guy for proving himself as a legit elite superstar in this league especially after he left your team and was the reason your team didnt advance a year ago.

    Take Marion out of the suns lineup and all the suns are is jump shooting, no defense, no offensive rebounding, no energy players, and etc. I think people are underestimating Marion's importance. The suns would be crap with either player out but when they are both playing than the suns are good.
