Lester to the Cubs. Guess Epstein is trying to recreate the Red Sox?
They had a cute little 3 year run

Blue Jays are taking that division if Boston doesn't get Scherzer. Their best pitcher is currently Clay Bucholz
How do you feel about the Cespi acquisition, Shock?
As for the Dodgers, hate losing Dee Gordon, but I think the Dodgers got better overall. Kemp is too inconsistent, injury prone, and can't cover the outfield like he used to.
After the Red Sox lost out on Jon Lester they made a good trade to move OF Cespedes who hated Boston.
Getting pitching help in starter Rick Porcello helped Sox fill the hole and cleared some of the log jam in the
outfield. The Sox also picked up left hander Wade Miley who put up 200 innings of work with the D-backs.
Kemp gonna have a renaissance with the Padres doe
He should hitting wise. And I do think the Padres "won" that trade, but the Dodgers trading Kemp had a lot to do with the FO's desire to develop Pederson and free up the logjam at the outfield position. Padres get an exciting player to watch (if he stays healthy) and the Dodgers don't have to play musical chairs with their outfield rotation anymore and get to see what Pederson is made of.
Win/Win for both sides.
Surprised they kept Puig tho; guy just screams cancer and hasn't really shown much improvement since his rookie season.
Since he's young, you have to take that gamble. Plus, he sells tickets and merch. The bean3rs love him over here.
Chris Sale and Jeff Samardzija....watch out...
Samardzija is ing in the AL. White Sox are going to be a .500 team
Melky Cabrera now in Chi town with the Sox. Baseball might actually be slightly watchable this year
White Sox will still be #4 in the division.
LOL mad got.
The Rangers standing pat. No moves during the winter meetings.
Rangers have a re ed FO, but it's the right move. Too many injuries last year to get any real read on things. Then again, a lot of the pieces they have are old (Beltre), fragile (Profar), or just plain worthless (Fielder).
Finally the Yanks are on the youth movement
Miley could be a great pickup or could be a lame one.
He's good for lots of innings, but he struggled last year and in a big-bat division that could get worse. Or, he reclaims his all-star form from his rookie and sop re years. He has solid stuff and a good mentality, but he lost touch last year.
Liked the haul they got for him, so hope the trade works out for everyone.
Jed Lowrie to Stros.
Good pick-up. Boston paid 40 mil more for Sandoval despite Headley having better numbers over the past 3 seasons.
Angles tried to send Josh Hamilton back to the Rangers. For once the Rangers did the right thing and took a pass. The Angles are still on the hook for $83 mil with Josh.........
Padres got Wil Myers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Padres making moves
Finalized the Kemp deal (very iffy about that arthritis diagnosis tho), acquired Myers, Norris, and Justin Upton, and on the verge of signing Joe Johnson and trading for Middlebrooks. All this without trading Gyorko, two of Maybin/Smith/Venable, and their better pitching. If they'd of kept Headley they'd arguably have the best defensive unit in the NL along with some hitting.
Good pick ups, Rob.
