In this warped universe where geeks are giving their opinions on what used to be a mans sport... cheating the game is respected over giving your best effort. I don't know what makes anyone think Kobe would change his game plan in the 4th quarter of his career. The guy has been a chucker from day one. Nothing he does should surprise you after 18 years, but... this cheating the fans by sitting your got ass out of key games as some sort of poker move to hide your hand is a joke. First, the massive rebate of millions just to win, and now cheating the paying fans because of what? You're tired? Jordan played 82 games his last season at the age of 40. At the age of 40 Kareem played 80 games. Take a bow Jim and Spursfans... you've set a new standard... ing gots.

Yet you got to see a performance.
I see plenty of Duncan's performances, too. He's played over 90% of his regular season games over the past 9 seasons and hasn't missed a single playoff game

Kobe stupidly pushes himself for 38 minutes per game in pursuit of stats, embarrasses himself with historically bad performances, blows an Achilles, and costs the fans both a playoff performance and a near-full regular season the next year.

    I like Duncan's strategy here.

Discretion is the better part of valor sometimes.

So why was Jim playing 40 minutes in a meaningless game against the Lakers last week? The mother er was diving for the ball out of bounds when the game was over.

    ?

That game came down to a Nick Young miracle 3. Duncan was trying to win the game rather than pad. On that note, did you see Kirby going for steals today when the Lakers were like down 8 with 15 seconds left?

wanted to steal the ball so he could pad a little bit more

diving for loose balls doesn't show up on the stat sheet. going balls out to win a game > going balls out to put up shots and chase empty points during a loss to the Kings

Main diffrence is that Duncan is actually helping his team to win, so if he can play 40 minutes be it.

You're in denial, anything you say has to be taken with a grain of salt. In your case, possibly an entire salt mine.

It's tragedy Cubby, I remember when you used to have Gasol and Bynum. Perkins was there stewing there on the bench with the mad face and you were somebody back then. Fisher is out there barking orders and Artest hits the three. I mean, How'd it come to this, cubby?
