Good stuff, Bloeddyr.
I think Lampkin improved a lot from his junior to senior year.
Per 24/7, CB Kendall Sheffield will make his commitment at the Under Armour game on January 2nd.
Down to A&M, Bama and FSU.
My money is on Bama
IF, he does chose Bama, it would mean that Bama has come into Texas and taken the top Safety and the top Corner in the state. Is that what the aggsy were wanting when they joined the SEC?
Oh that's right, they don't care who prison rapes them as long as it isn't Texas, Oklahoma, Tech or Baylor.
I was just looking at what Bama fans think of their chances with him and it seems like they have a bunch of DBs committed and very few scholarships left. Florida St thinks that they are running third. So I think that he goes to A&M, it's the smart think for him to do. Play in the SEC and start from day one. Of course, the one thing working against A&M is the lack of DC but I'm sure that they'll get one at some point lol.
Bama IMO. Saban is not afraid to bounce lesser recruits if a better option comes along. And more notably, if it was A&M, why would he not wait to see who the DC is? A&M would hold a spot for him.
QB Clint Trickett will not play for West Virginia on Monday against A&M.
He is retiring due to concussions.
12/15 - 1/14, IIRC
Dead period is stupid, the one time when these guys have the time to sit down with schools and really get to know each other and the NCAA in their infinite stupidity says no you can't have contact. If someone was to say make it from 12/23 to 1/2 then I'd understand, that is the holiday season and it gives them a chance to be with family but for a whole month does no one any good. It's a disservice to both the kids and their families and the schools.
After hearing the latest news on Boyd (that he will be announcing his top 5 on Jan 1st), I will officially be taking a break from recruiting news for a while.
How do you go from making your commitment on X-mas Day to just releasing your top 5 on new years day, lol?
CB Davante Davis of Miami, FL told 24/7 today he already knows where he's committing. He talked briefly about the way Strong recruited the state of Florida while at Louisville and hinted at other recruits attending school with him. Looks and sounds good for UT right now. We'll find out on New Year's Day.
“The relationship I've built with the coach,” Davis said when asked for the biggest reason he's picked a school in advance of his decision. “I've built up a lot of trust with that coach.”
24/7 also mentioned a few days ago that WR Gilbert Johnson, TE Devonaire Clarington, CB Davante Davis and ATH Tim Irvin have been working out together over their Christmas vacation. Ideally UT will have all four guys wrapped up by the end of next week.
If this goes through I think TE Chris Clark once again commits to Michigan, he'd been hoping this would happen.
I think a commitment from Clarington would derail things anyway.
But rumors tonight that he's decided not to visit Texas and Harbaugh would make Michigan the favorite.
I like Clarington but I don't think we can get him in. What is the story with all his school changes?
