Oh wait, fail, tbh..I was looking at the wrong link..

They have virtually the same RAPM, this season, but Kobe is still superior, as he has way more possessions and minutes..
but they're adjusted, why do possessions and minutes matter

Players that have a better RAPM than Kobe, but worse than gy (according to your link)

    Derrick Rose
    Joel Freeland
    Robert Covington
    Ed Davis
    Austin Daye
    Nate Robinson
    Thaddeus Young
    Nikola Vucevic
    Bismack Biyombo
    Shelvin Mack
    Quincy Pondexter
    Clint Capela
    Larry Drew
    C.J. Wilcox
    Lucas Nogueira
    Kalin Lucas
    Nick Johnson
    Kyle Singler
    Gary Harris
    Andre Dawkins
    Russ Smith
    Jason Terry
    Troy Daniels
    Jabari Parker
    Jeremy Lin
    Nate Wolters

You clearly need to look into the meaning of these numbers..

RAPM is supposed to compare players with:

    1- Similar possession numbers
2- Combined with other advanced metrics(usage rates and volume metrics), players with similar roles to each other

Kobe has played approximately 1500 possessions more than Young..makes a huge difference..

    Young -0.6 approx 3000 possessions
    Kobe -0.8 approx 4500 possessions

    Young 15.5 PER
    Kobe 17.5 PER

    Young -0.2 VORP
    Kobe 1.6 VORP
    PER

We can all cherry-pick adv mets

    Young: 0.74 WS/48
    Kirby: .005 WS/48

    Young: 1.2 WS
    Kirby: 0.1 WS

    Young: 1.2 OWS
Kirby: -0.4 OWS (team worst )

If you're going to ignore context and sample sizes, then Hassan Whiteside is the 2nd best big man in the league, according to most advanced metrics..

Win Shares is a weak stat, as I've been saying for years..you can throw it in as an add-on, that's fine, but like offensive/defensive rating, it should just be a throw-in, peripheral stat, not your main argument(really easy to poke holes in it)..

PER is a good box score stat to evaluate individual performance, which is the only thing both Kobe and Nick Young are aiming for..

RAPM is so far ahead of the adv stat times that the only link available on the entire interwebs is some appspot.com 1999 Lotus-123 bull spreadsheet

can't even upgrade to Excel 2005

PER is a summary of basic stats using random weights that has no true bearing of how well a player contributes to a game.

While WS has its flaws, it's a much better representation of how well a player helps his team win (which at the end is all you want) than RAPM, which is really covered in fuzzy math and unknown normalizations.

RAPM is also prone to overrating/underrating a player based on the strength of the bench. If a player is replaced by Eric Bledsoe, he is going to look a lot worse than another player replaced by Austin Rivers. Not to mention that the number of possessions argument indicates Kawhi > Lebron, and stat also says Draymond Green > Klay Thompson, not mention Amir Johnson is some superstar level player.
