Vucevic is doing it against every team, too. So, no fluke game there. Wish we had him instead of the Turd Towers of Bonner and Ayres.
Didn't expect it to be a close game but a 1-pt WIN is fine with me.
Congrats Spurs...

That guy is averaging 19 pts / game I think .he is good
Watching Games 3 and 4 still blows my mind... it's like holy we are literally unstoppable.
I don't care what they think as long as they're healthy and in gear come April.
I would like a different type of coasting. A few blowouts to rest some guys would be nice.
I'm with you but we gotta move up in the standings. There's a reason a #5 seed is the lowest seed to win a Championship.
Meh, the Spurs last year did a lot of things no champion had ever done before.
Didn't the Rockets win it as a 6th seed?
He's been showing some signs of life the last couple of games in spurts but his overall play is still a major concern. Hope he's himself after the AS break.
What up with Dallas vs Warriors? I hope GSW beat Dallas
Yeah, you're right but still. They had a prime Hakeem in full-on beast mode. And no low seed, especially in the west has come close to that since. We need to move up, tbh.
True but they were still a #1 seed and with the best record in the NBA.
Panicking over the Spurs in February is premature, but this team's play is definitely very concerning. The schedule has eased up but they still look like they need more time off. That all-star break can't come soon enough, but will that even help at this point?
Terrible luck tonight with other games. The Rockets won against the bulls and the Warriors are laying eggs against the Mavs.
I'm not panicking yet but there are reasonable concerns about them now. With the AS break coming up, it stands to reason if maybe Pop needs to consider altering play-calling to where Kawhi gets more opportunities. What about considering playing TP off the bench?
The 2001 Lakers (the only Lakers team I give props to in the Shaq/Kobe era) didn't play that well during the regular season. They didn't get it going until April. Up until then, they weren't playing that great. They won all their games in April and headed into the playoffs playing very well. They finished off the playoffs going 15-1.
You don't have to be playing lights out right now in early February to win it, you should look to be playing well and be really focused heading into the playoffs. The main reason the Spurs need to win games right now is because of their seeding, which unfortunately is a result from the hole they dug for themselves earlier in the season by losing a lot of those very winnable games.
Cojo would at least allow Kawhi to get the ball on a lot of trips down the court where Kawhi could run PnR.. Parker could come in with the 3rd rotation to spell Manu. Parker knows he's falling off, hence the corner 3 ball. He's trying to find his next niche to stay relevant
Big difference is that 2001 Shaq and Kobe were otherworldly...but I see what you mean.
If Pop had no qualms benching a in-his-prime Manu several years ago, why would he have reservations doing so for a 32 year old TP? Though I would have TP in the 2nd rotation with Manu, which could mean more Good Manu than Turnobili.
Oh, I agree. I wasn't calling you out for panicking. Tbh, I find more reasons to panic right now than to simply sayFebruary, coasting, etc. I don't think running plays for Kawhi will help. There's too many problems going on. Diaw/Splitter look really bad this year. Duncan/Manu/Green are fatigued as . Don't even get me started on Parker's awful play. This team just needs to find a way to be fresh and get their chemistry back. You may not agree with me on this, but Parker is at best the 3rd PG on the team at this point. So I would like to see the team use CoJo/Patty as the PG rotation. Of course, because of Parker's lifetime status and extension kicking in, that is very unlikely.
Looking at it positively, this is a typical Spurs season. They usually struggle around this time of the year. If they look like this next month, I will officially be worried.
Parker is playing as the 3rd best PG on the team but Pop will not relegate him to that status. We have to cross our fingers and hope he turns it around and just needs the AS break to be himself again. I'd still like to preserve him and play him off the bench in the 2nd unit with Manu, though. You're right about Bobo and Splitter too. Bobo could definitely use the rest coming up but I'm still concerned about Splitter's durability going forward.
Yeah but that kills Patty touching the ball with that unit because TP and Manu would kill ball movement. Patty needs to come off the bench in that 2nd unit so he can create a spark when needed.
Look at that. GS won.![]()
