Pippen played in the golden age of defensive centers. He had to compete with D-Rob, Olajuwon, Mourning, Mutombo, etc. He got robbed in '95 though. That was without a doubt his best defensive season where he did everything and had the Bulls the 2nd best defense in the league and looking at the talent on that Bulls team at the time it was nothing short of a miracleI'm surprised Pippen has never won it..Granted I didn't follow the 90's...But just looking at his advanced metric, how the Fk did he not win one..
The worst part was Gary Payton and George Karl campaigned for the award in '96 and their big mouths won it even though Payton didn't have near the impact of Pippen the year before.

I wonder what this will do for Kawhi? Will it add pressure? Will it drive him even more to live up to this and really blossom this playoffs? I am so interested in next game from him and Jordan.
I'm going to say that I agree about Draymond Green. Watching him in these first 2 games against NO in the playoffs convinced me that he is legit. He was even able to check A. Davis some possessions in the games. Very impressive. He's very, very good and I wouldn't have had a problem with him winning it. I think the last regular season game against Goldenstate where Kawhi was awesome may have helped get him extra votes to win it.Also, people mocking Draymond - that dude had a legit case for DPOY. There is no arguing against it. I am geniunely surprised that Kawhi got the award even though he was deserving.
GS was thought to have COY, DPOY & MVP. Curry has to win the MVP - no one gave them COY/DPOY and they had the best regular season of the past how many years? If Curry doesn't win MVP it will be another shocker.

It should give him even more clout with the refs now lol. And All-Defense 1st team is most likely all but certain.
He's an accolade machine. Is there actually a chance at a regular season MVP for Kawhi? I'm done doubting anything now. Hopefully he keeps progressing and stays healthy. With the age/contract situation of the Big 3, this feels like a great chance for Kawhi this playoffs to make the quantum leap.

Kawhi really trying to mold his game like Michael Jordan's. Last game in the 4th quarter with the fake-spin, midrange fade away jumper. Now with the DPOY. Hopefully, you carry Spurs and then get your 2nd FMVP.
