Presti
@WojYahooNBA: Oklahoma City GM Sam Presti flew to Florida and met with Billy Donovan on Tuesday, league sources tell Yahoo. Formal offer expected soon.
it's the FO that needs to be changed not the Coach for Christ sakes
Another coach for Westbrook to.run over.
I remember Orlando was supposed to get this got, but he backed out after signing the contract and then they got SVG instead
Was just thinking that. Don't think Donovan will make it as an NBA coach.
Also, why didn't Presti wait? Should have gone after Alvin Gentry instead of rushing this.
This will end badly. If they really want to reign in Westbrook some, they need an established NBA coach.
NCAA basketball
vanilla offenses
antiquated 90's NBA style basketball
With Durant looking broken, its not like anything they do matters.
Why the didn't they wait for Thibedeau to get fired?
Will be a difficult sell after playing in the NBA Finals
gots can't even close out Milwaukee at home and this 's talking about the NBA Finals.
What is the over/under on a move back to Seattle within 3 years?
Not that Donovan is a bad boach, but I'm surprised he took this job. I understand they have the players to probably carry you to a decent record, but he's not going to be able to do much "coaching" with the way Durant and Westbrook act. Not to mention you have to deal with cancerous at udes like Westbrook/Durant, along with Waiters and Kanter.
I really hope this team blows up in the next couple years.
That's a good move. He shouldn't consult with them. There's no guarantee that they will be around in the next few years, and there's no reason to feed their ego when asking who the coach should be. You can see when that happened with LeBron, it started out poorly with James treating a fairly good European coach (who accomplished a lot) like dirt and the scapegoat (pushing him around, fussing at him poor body language). The last thing you need is Durant and company doing that to the new coach. They did that with Brooks already, so I see them bullying Donovan anyways.. but you don't want to give them the green light.
Durant and Westbrook have been coddled enough by the organization, the team's in a mess because of that.
Presti might just be preparing for life after Durant/Westbrook. Brad Stevens has been good so far, so it's not like a successful college coach can't make it in the NBA. Then again all Stevens has done is exceed low expectations.
