I've considered Tevin Mack a lock from the day he asked to be released from VCU. I would be shocked if he picks Georgia or Kansas or wherever else that isn't Texas.

"Pretty much (the visits are) just because I have some time on my hands," Jones explained. "I just want to be able to visit some of the Texas schools that I have interest in. My plan is to knock out Texas schools, then this summer go out far to schools like Mississippi, LSU, Alabama, things like that."
"Honestly, I'm just trying to make it through this year. Then I plan on having a top six. I've tried to make a to five but really couldn't get it down to five," Jones said. "I plan on releasing a top six pretty soon, maybe in June or July and then I'll go from there."
"Me and coach (Charlie) Strong, coach (Chris) Vaughn, we've all been trying to set up a visit for a while. I had some free time during May, so we were trying to work around their schedule and my schedule as well," Jones said. "I'll be down there this weekend, arrive Friday, stay until Sunday. I'll see the campus on Saturday. I'm really looking forward to it."
"Hopefully I can just meet some of the players. Also, I want to take the time to actually meet every coach one on one, find out the full story of what they're about," Jones said. "Then also just learn a little about the academics, always keep that in mind, just have a great time overall."
"I actually just got off the phone with coach Strong a few minutes ago," Jones said. "My schedule is really busy, I usually don't even (direct message) coaches back because I'm so busy. I read through them, but coach Strong will DM me in the morning or afternoon, say 'Hey call me tonight if you're free.' So we kind of have that worked out. Today, all we talked about basketball, the playoffs."
"Honestly, down here, it's pretty biased. I don't know how it happened, but half Nacogdoches is A&M, half Texas. That's all I hear all day, every day," Jones said. "My mom is a big help and my coaches. But I'm an individual guy, I like to think of me being at a place for four years. My mom won't be there, neither will my coaches. So it's kind of an individual thing too."
OrangeBloods saying 2017 LB Baron Browning of Kennedale should be stopping by the football offices this weekend while he's in town for the state track meet.
He would likely receive an offer once he stops by as he did not make it to Austin for the spring game.
Per OrangeBloods, the UT coaches will see OL Patrick Hudson of Silsbee this week.

"When they came to see me and Levi (Onwuzurike) last week, I think that's when they realized how interested I was," Jones said. "I think I'm going to call coach Norvell this week, set up a visit to go to Austin sometime soon."
"Without them even knowing, I was going to visit and let them know about me. I didn't have to, and they came to watch practice and my coach kind of let them know," Jones said. "That's what I was planning on doing, but since they came and I actually got his number, so I know who to call."
"I practice 100 percent every day. But sometimes I really don't even see the coaches. Some of my teammates will be like, 'Is he here for you?' and then I'll see them," Jones said. "But it really doesn't change anything. I'm always going hard, it's an every day thing for me."
"I'm not about to trim it. With schools like Texas that are good schools that I can see myself at, I don't want to trim things down, then they come in after and it messes things up," Jones said. "So I'm slowing things down a little."
"Being close to home doesn't really mater that much but it's Austin, it's close. Charlie Strong, I see him turning that program around," Jones said. "It's a defensive program, and what really stands out is the after life, the alumni, getting a degree from Texas is big. So definitely the life after college."

Alabama has offered DT Marcel Southall (Duncanville) and RB Brandon Stephens (Plano High).
