I love that they're finally hammering those cheats. We'll see if it stands though.
Don't worry guys, when Brady sues and wins, the league will be paying him!

blowing your wads this early. I'm genuinely shocked at losing a 1st rounder, aside from that pretty much expected the rest. Brady will be playing Week 1. Any impartial arbitrator will easily throw this suspension out.
Andrew Luck didn't wax their team by 30 pts for the past decade.
Okay....Spygate...Tuck Rule...now deflate gate.
Do we know for a fact that Tom Brady was involved in Spygate? No....
Is it Tom Bradys fault that the refs called his fumble an incomplete pass? No...
Did Tom Brady have something to do with the footballs being deflated? "Probably"....
6 games for a first time offender? And some people wanted the entire year. I agree SupremeGuy...the people want this "cheating" franchise to be punished....and punished accordingly. The Patriots now are repeat offenders....but is Tom Brady? Why is he being lumped into the repeat offenders category?
No way he is a first time offender. But in this case he attempted to cover something up by not helping the investigation. It's a bad look
I agree...it's a bad look. If you have nothing to hide...then why not cooperate?
Explain the "No way he is a first time offender" part of your post. What has Tom Brady (him...not the Patriots organization) done?
A lot of truth to this post. If my Bucs got caught deflating footballs.....NOBODY would give a .
Because those guys that were ttexting back and forth about Tom. They knew how he liked the pressure in the footballs. It seemed like it was a routine that had been going on a while through those texts. Plus you have those reports about other instances where practice footballs were used in game by NE.
Also if you go back and look at his press conference, dude was pissing in his pants he was nervous.
So you're going the hearsay route....got it![]()
You think to orchestrate deflating footballs in a game, it takes one time to get the procedure down? They wouldn't have tried it before the AFC championship?
The punishment seems as much a product of Brady and the Patriots always being smug and defiant when goes down as anything else. It's like an aura of self righteous iness. They come across as crooked politicians caught in a scandal but using their position and power to basically say, "yeah, so? What the are you going to do about it?" It's sort of like the difference between Andy Pet te copping to using steroids versus A-Rod continually denying and double-talking to avoid any accountability until he finally just couldn't. Pet te's image came out of the steroids era fairly clean. A-Rod is still viewed as a made liar and cheat.
If Brady admitted that he at least was aware of what happened, something tells me the punishment might not have been as severe, maybe just a token game. Right or wrong, I think the way Brady and the Patriots have responded to the accusations has been a big part of how heavy the punishment is.
From an organizational standpoint, the previous incidents probably also play a role in the lost draft picks.
Essentially a slap on the wrist in exchange for a Super Bowl ring. Pete Rose got banned for LIFE. Kraft will have some ridiculous PR statement about being offended blah blah blah, but in reality they got away with murder.
Congrats DD on the division le.
Too bad Hernandez didn't.
No djohn....taking a couple pounds of air pressure out of a football isn't exactly rocket science. A monkey could "probably" be taught to do this simple task.
What you're saying though is that since it's so easy to do....they must have been doing it all along. You can't do that. Without evidence of prior infractions...you can't falsely accuse someone.
Listen....I'm not saying that Tom Brady didn't damn well know what he was doing. In this case (the one where he got caught) he deserves to be suspended. I just think 4 games for a 1st time offender is a little harsh. It's just my opinion. Ray Rice knocked a out....then dragged said out of an elevator by her hair. Ole Goodell thought that was a 2 game suspension. Only after public outcry...did they change the ruling. Same thing here....the public outcry was too much. So boy Roger thought, "I better throw the book at the Golden Boy."
Bills might take the division even with Brady playing all 16.
I did like how pussy ass Goodell decided to hide behind Troy Vincent on this one. He probably figured he could avoid criticism, instead everyone seems to be pretty satisfied with this ruling.
Im surprised the NFL went for draft choices.
I guess the reasoning for this is somewhere in their statement.
I thought the Patriots, as a team, were considered to be cooperating.
Belichick will devise a QB -less game plan to go 2-2 until Brady gets back, no big deal there.
The $$$$, a drop in the bucket,
The draft picks...a biggie.
Tom Brady's legacy a bit tarnished, but just a little bit.
Now this whole, "Teams can do whatever with the footballs" during the week prior is going to be looked at. (As long as they weigh right...and have correct psi)
I can see a situation where the NFL steps in and takes away this luxury from the QBs in the near future. The first snap of the game is going to be the first time the QB has touched that specific football....
