several scouts at steele's practices this week, including texas, a&m and mizzou. most of them looking at jackson (who has been beasting) but junior QB xavier martin is starting to garner some interest. the kid is an amazing athlete and has some wheels. he will be recruited as an athlete by some although baylor has expressed interest in him as a QB. for the record, martin has stated he grew up an aggie fan. steele's WR antoine cox-wesley committed to tech this week. jordan sterns' (currently a safety at OSU) little brother is also playing as a DB (sop re) and some say he is better than his brother and tommy armstrong's (QB nebraska) kid brother will get some looks as well (as a TE).
Some raw talent there but hard to tell in such a run happy offense. Tech is currently running in desperation mode recruiting wise so they're offering a bunch of two stars.
To be fair, Antoine suffered a broken collarbone last season and missed five games. He was a key player in the playoffs and made an incredible catch in
the state semifinal game against Katy. Steele has been transitioning to a spread offense and passed the ball more last year and should even more this year as Xavier Martin has a cannon for an arm.
That crazy one handed TD catch and 100 yard game at state might have been all Tech needed to offer a scholly.

Great news! I asked about him on 24/7 last spring, because I noticed that coach Bedford was following him and a couple of teammates on Twitter. Back then, I was told that Texas (and Bedford) was one of the first to contact his coach and asking about him. I wonder why it took this long to offer. He has both Baylor and TCU in his top 4 (TCU is his leader) and A&M at 9 in his top 10, so distance doesn't seem like a factor to him.
Conflicting reports out there about DT Kendell Jones committing to Alabama. OrangeBloods says it's done, While his coach (Per Brian Perroni), says it isn't a "done deal yet". Texas' 24/7 site says, that their Alabama sources are saying they don't think it's legit.
