Crazy lucky for the Spurs that Danny has never been one to chase money. I don't see how Green would not have gotten that same deal. Hope the Spurs packed in some incentives.

Danny Green took a major discount, it appears. Also, I still have no sandwich.

Makes sense. Cheers.![]()
Carroll for 15 per, as well..

DeMarre Carroll is now the highest paid player on an NBA team
holy ing ! this guy was almost out of the league one year ago
Thank you LDN for the hometown discount!![]()
That deal is going to look pretty nice once the cap goes up. Among guys who are mostly 3 and D wings, Danny's at least among the top handful -- and probably among the best at doing those two specific things in combination -- and he's taking less in this market to do that than, say, Middleton or Carroll.
Not that it's been much of a topic, but I don't think anyone can question Danny's commitment to winning (or to the Spurs).
i guess it's because the spurs saved his career. Still great though
No doubt, he was probably going to get $12 million a year easy maybe even up to $14 million a year. Spurs getting him for $11 million a year is a good price.
I hope they make a 30 for 30 on the Spurs' front office tactics one day, tbh, those s must be doing something behind the scenes..
Lets be honest, just cancel tomorrows meeting with the Knicks already...
which ingredient of your "perfect mix" is Parker?
Damn. Green is better than Carroll.
It's now safe to say Green saved the Spurs at least $15M.
Amazing.
We need to build a statue to RC someday.
Yeah man, he took a 25% discount on what his market value is. I don't know if I could have done that in his shoes, but he always sounded like he didn't have much interest in moving on to another team with all the success he has had here.
Danny Green and the Spurs trolling the NBA. As per usual.
I just wonder if this means Manu told RC he's retiring. Otherwise it would be hard to clear the capspace for Aldridge without renouncing one of Green or Ginobili.
I think if Manu was coming back he'd be at that meeting with LMA in LA.
I think he comes from a pretty well-off family, so it's possible that he has never really worried about money and doesn't want to start now. But still, Danny is giving up more than any Spurs besides Tim has. I wonder if they are thinking about the tax in all this?
agreed - they're playing Risk while everyone else is playing checkers.
I really thought green was gone. Underestimated his relationship with team and with pop who just knows how to push the right buttons when it comes to getting the best out of his players.
Danny loves this team. He could have got more from other suitors. ing awesome.![]()
