Baynes. Baynes does a great job against Howard when isn't able to get away with offensive fouling him.
Question is who is going to defend the likes of Davis, Griffin, Zbo. I guess the Spurs will revert to the Amare strategy of letting those guys get their, but shut down everyone else.
Will need a new center in addition to Baynes. I wonder what Atlanta gave up in Splitter trade. A draft pick?
How does trade kickers work?
If, by some chance, we don't get LMA, who is Plan B? Not that Tiago is gone, what are some other bigs we would consider?
Will be interesting to see details. Spurs may get trade exception too...
That could be VERY helpful in adding bench depth.
As much I like Healthy Splitter, being able to salary dump him for nothing is an opportunity the Spurs couldn't pass up right now. Walking into the Aldridge meeting with such a clear picture of the future is worth the gamble of having to figure out a Plan B if Aldridge goes elsewhere.
Thanks, Splitter, for the great run that helped get #5. Have fun in Atlanta where you have a legit shot at making it to the Finals.
And thank you, Coach Bud, for doing the Spurs a solid.
Damn. I fell asleep for forty five minutes and we re-sign Green, trade splitter and cashing in on LMA
Fall asleep more often then![]()
ha ha ha
lol, old bas
Probably cash considerations.
Ducks wasn't the first one to post this... Why does he/she/it get credit for breaking news?
Tell me about it. I'm in hawaii and stayed up til 2am my time and slept til 6am, woke up to friends texting all this, had to fact check here at spurstalk.
What about possibly adding an overseas player from the Hawks? They own the rights to Gran Canaria's Walter Tavares.
Atlanta Spurs doing their part to help home base.
Hopefully at least a usable 2nd round pick or a far into the future lottery protected 1st pick. Splitter is a very valuable player with a friendly contract... the Spurs probably didn't have any trouble fielding offers.
Bismack Biyombo with MLE money?
Go back to sleep ... and perhaps we can get Tyson Chandler and Paul Pierce to split the MLE.![]()
