tyron smith won't break his leg this time throwing him around like a rag doll
He's not practicing in team activities, only one on ones. He can't practice in team drills until he signs the tender or a new contract. I don't think he gets his new contact this season, I think the team is happy w/ him playing under the franchise tag for another season because they are stuck trying to figure out what he's worth, and I doubt they want to use Megatron's contract as the measuring stick.
Gotta applaud Dez for making it known he's unhappy, but not being a little about it and being negative

He'd get screwed; I'm not quite sure how much it would hurt the Cowboys. Either way, I'm starting to think that unless Dez is willing to sign a fair and reasonable contract, we're going to franchise him this year, next year, and then maybe let him walk. At that point, he'd be ~30 and would probably start declining. The good thing is that we're going to be able to keep him for his prime years and then after that, it's all on him.
Hes only 26
My bad, he'd be around 29, not 30.
This Dez situation has the ptential to get pretty ugly

Do the Cowboys set a new tone for the organization and seek a sign and trade with someone, or back down and show the locker room that you can threaten them and they'll break? I personally think it's bull , pay that man what he wants. Just be smart w/ the contract and add a few clauses.
E. Smith made the Cowboys cry uncle after they lost their first two games without him.
Should be interesting.
Dez really doesn't have much leverage. If he does holdout, while it does hurt the team, it will really hurt him financially. But, I see a deal getting done before the season.
Contract negotiations were able to continue into the season back then, not anymore. After July 15th, he can't even sign a new contract so it'd be pretty pointless to sit out any games. This is either all bluff, or Dez is getting some horrible advice.
Excellent point.

Rolando McClain suspended 4 games for substance abuse. i knew something was up
and it starts..
He's gonna have nothing to do in Alabama for those 4 weeks except commit crimes and do more drugs..
R.I.P Rolando McClain
By the 5th game Lee will be out for the season, so we're pretty much never going to see the potential of those two on the field together realized.
The 4 game suspension should not be a surprise. The guy was unders scrutiny already, he just continued his wayward ways. This is as shocking as players falling off the Cowyboy's highly successful guidance program that Jerrah installed to help his kids find their way. " Well certainly its uh disappointing as we have childcare available to all our players and certainly its been a highly successful endeavor, certainly "
