Spurs fans who want risk-free gambles on a strict timetable are delusional.

If he goes to suns, they can do sign and trade and LA can get his Max max. I know everyone is talking about how he can get more with 2 yr opt out, but he did have surgery on his hand. Has to make him question passing up 120M. One Injury away from losing that opportunity next year. Plenty of things he has to really consider. He probably wants this to be his final move. That makes it all the more important to get it right.

Matthews is never going to be the same player again. Jordan was a good signing but I don't know what they were thinking throwing big money at Matthews.
Yeah, that was a dumb ass contract they will want to dump in a year or so. They will regret that.

Don't think that's the rule anymore.

"Spurs were the only true contenders in 2015" and look what happened. Repeating is never easy and there will always be sleeper teams to look out for,
Spurs suffered from mileage/injuries all year, Warriors are a fresh and young team, no reason to believe any of the other teams in the West can beat them..who do you suggest could beat them? Maybe OKC, actually, I forgot about them..

I may be wrong but I do not think you can S&T with a 5 year deal.

Nothing like dinner at 1:30 PM - early bird special at Luby's?
No Luby's in the Los Angeles area. Pop probably has a standing table at Musso and Frank's but LMA wants In-N-Out.

Damn I just expected this would be like most other Julys where the big dominos fall first and then you have a Plan B if you don't get the guy you wanted. There isn't even a Rasho level fallback option this time around since everyone but Aldridge has committed in the first three days. When this started I figured worst case they have to take Monroe or overpay Chandler if they could dump Splitter.

Pressure is on but we can't blame the spurs for trying .we all know they had to dump splitter without taking money back to have any real shot at Aldridge .spurs are all the in here

Trading Splitter gives them the option to trade for a big as well. So their options aren't as limited as you might think.

OKC is a big question mark, with Durant potentially being done as a MVP level player

God damn Musso and Frank's sucks. It's such a dingy piece of , the food is lousy and expensive, and there were two 60 year old s making out two tables down from me the one time I ate there.

Yea I've read that it isn't eligible anymore, but I keep seeing it from legitimate tweets as the biggest selling point. Figured I'd give em the benefit of the doubt, since they do this for a living. Might have been a mistake.

Not really, they realistically have until the trade deadline to shore up the roster. Not something they usually do mid-season, but they don't usually go after a first-tier free agent either.

David West + Kosta Koufos > Rasho, tbh.

And teams with cap space have been getting great returns for absorbing contracts.

Splitter is a good player but a pretty notable injury risk. The Spurs have never really figured out what's wrong with him. They don't know if his calf pain causes his back weakness or his back weakness causes his calf pain...

Don't get me wrong, even knowing the market was dry I'd still have done the Splitter salary dump. But damn it would have been nice to be able to hedge some bets.

As good as Splitter is, two good players who can stay healthy are probably equal to the value he would give since he's going to be an injury risk going forward.

@ Mavs, Excluding putbacks 4% of Deandre Jordan's baskets were unassisted, no way in is he worth the max.
