Baynes was an average defender, I've read several posts the past week that claim his defense will be a significant loss for the Spurs..not sure where that perception came from..
I think most people who don't watch the spurs closely are deceived by Baynes physical appearance and think due to the fact that he's huge and built like a truck that he must be a great interior defender. Baynes biggest strength to me was his ability to set good picks and to get some good garbage buckets but outside of that he was not amazing.

The Spurs will definitely bring in a 3rd PG on the cheap tbh. probably the easiest position to fill in basketball.

Desperate? I'm just talking hoops. What does Kobe have to do with this thread?
You're getting desperate. Let's face it, when a rapist made you start rooting for the Lakers, you never thought you'd have to for tanking tres years in a row.

If Cojo had ended up on any other team in the league he probably wouldn't even be in the league any more with the way the Spurs developed him. Crazy contract, but glad he's getting paid like that.

I liked his offense and thought he developed well with the Spurs, but I viewed him as an offense-first player with his screen-setting and ability to finish well/make short jump shots..I've never viewed him as anything special on defense, at all..

I'm not sure why our resident illegal decided to venture upstairs and "talk hoops" explaining to Spurfan why you can't replace an Arn Baynes.......
He's used to sneaking over the border where he's not wanted, tbh.

You have to put things in perspective, tbh... when your frontcourt is Jordan Hill and Carlos Boozer, Baynes probably looks like the next Hakeem out there

They weren't going to match that offer, so why draw out the process. Withdrawing the offer is actually doing a solid for a former player and the Toronto FO.

Agents and executives remember this kind of thing.

Or are you talking about something else?

Baynes' best attribute on D is that he's a good flopper, tbh.

I really hope they fill the 3rd PG role with Nate Wolters. I'm not entirely sure why the dude is floating around in summer leagues, tbh. He showed good promise in Milwaukee and I thought other teams would've taken notice.

^^ Joseph's ceiling is higher than Beverley's, tbh, and I'm not even a big fan of Cojo's..

He's playing well so far in Orlando. Didn't light up the D-League as might be expected last season.

Wonder if the spurs will show any interest in a 3rd string PG like Barbosa or if they'll just let Manu & Patty handle it (assuming Manu returns) and spend the money on another big & wing. I'd assume the latter.
why would they.. geez please pop don't go all drew gooden and charlie villanueva on us ...
