Yep he is. That's one less team to worry about now.![]()
Damn. He left ten million on the table to go to Spurs. This guy means business.
Mah h!
Laker fans must be eating a lot of good ol´sausage right now, white mus !
West-Diaw-Anderson-Manu-Mills makes for a deep bench!!!!
Blatt may want to retract his bogus statement about winning it all next year!!!
$10.5 M.... If he's leaving that much on the table, get it right... Lol!
The Spurs way. As Pop, TD and Manu entering their last years, we are getting more and more recognition, what we never had before.
Not only did West walk away from $11 million to join the Spurs, he did so even though he'll likely be the fourth bigman. Most players who take less do so to go to a situation where they can get playing time and rebuild their value. West just wants to win with his childhood favorite team.
Which reminds me: time to go check out Clutchfans and see their reaction![]()
Smart basketball mind, tbh... ClipperNation still a trannie lover tho
Really? A guy like David West makes that sort of choice and makes the Spurs even more attractive (presumably) to free agents, and Spurs fans wonder why they haven't yet addressed the 4th wing and 3rd point guard slots.
Surreal!

Amazing. When he opted out, I knew he'd be a Spur if Aldridge spurned them, but when he the latter signed, I thought it would be similar to the Gasol situation last year, where financially/role/position wise, it would no longer make sense. Even at his advanced age, he's one of the biggest signings in franchise history.
Considering the money and his ability, which is still clearly above fourth big, it's an outstanding signing and with his shooting/passing/IQ, he'll fit damn near seamlessly offensively. But there is the question of defense/rebounding. He's strong and long armed enough to get away with defending a lot of backup C's, but neither he nor Diaw can rebound or protect the rim.
11.7 pts 6.8 rebs 3.4 asts, 47% Fg in 29 minutes last season
Best part is that unlike when the Spurs signed an old, former All-Star like McDyess to play a starting role and be a key big next to Tim, West is going to be the 4th big and will generally play against opposing bench guys..
Need another perimeter defender now IMO..
Remembering back to the 2008 playoffs when this guy just absolutely ravaged our squad in that New Orleans series, glad to have him on our side now...
He is a FA. Will he play for the min? Kawhi needs a backup at the 3.
